I have to say, Jamstix + Superior = heaven!  I would absolutely LOVE it if Toontrack would partner directly with Ralph to make integration even tighter.  (It’s pretty solid even now.)  Either way.  Rayzoon and Toontrack are both top notch in my book.

    + for both statements.

I can’t believe I did it. I have more than enough drum samples already, but seing how many S2 owners prefer Evil Drums, and reading a lot of good reviews elsewhere I jumped in an bought that one too.

BTW it is half price during July for Europeans:

Luv the new EZmix! Any chance of coming out with more presets (Ac. Bass, BackingVox, Keys, Strings, More Bass, Piano, Gtr., Vocals, etc…)?

Exactly. I asked for roughly the same in another thread.

Having only two faders or so is fine. That’s the idea here. However, I would like a redesign, maybe in version 2, where it is more obvious what the faders do in different presets. I suggest their names should change depending on the purpose. Also use of colors changing with presets types or something along that line would be fine. As it is, it works, but gives the impression of a prototype, particularly when you have to scroll text in the little box to read what the preset does.

Thanks, I too have been confused about this. I didn’t even know you could do the drag thing down to the keyboard… Yes, I guess the info may be somewhere, but then again I have so many plugins and instruments to deal with.

I didn’t arouse my interest either. Looks like a toy.

EZMix is useful, and for the price it is not worth argueing much about this. There are, however, a few presets missing – piano, strings and organ comes to mind. I hope to see these in the next version. EZMix ought to at least cover all instruments usually found in popular music.

That said, I have just bought the Waves CLA signature plugins. These are much more useful to me and give me better results. But they also cost about 10 times the price of EZMix so the comparison is unfair. Since they also use much more cpu, I may still find use for EZMix during initial stages of a mix.

Not fair, because it is hard to describe in words what an ending should sound like. And anyway, just give us a lot of different ones. We will buy them.

Scott, that is not fair. Ask any drummer for a set of outros. Some may just be like fills ending with a crash, but others live a life of their own with a tempo slowdown or something leaving most of the ending as a short drum solo. We can always do a fade out which often sounds nice, because that’s what we hear on the radio when they need to match the lenght of songs to their program. But then again, we don’t want all our songs to end with a fade out. That would get boring on an album, at least as long as albums still are produced.

The only thing I miss from BFD (I used a long time ago) is pictures of the actual kit parts.

My favorite kit is Allaire with C&V cymbals and the C&V Ludwig 1920’s snare. Guess I could do without the cymbals, but not without Chris Whittens favorite snare. Why didn’t they bring it to NY for recording in Allaire?j

We are still waiting for the Steven Slate presets. So far we have waited more than three months since some presets were given away to NAMM attendees rather than loyal customers.

    Hi,

there’s no Jamstix (or similar) thingy in the making. No immediate plans of making one either.

    Thanks,

No big deal. Jamstix works fine with Superior 2. There is no need to compete with a fine product with the same great support as we get from Toontrack. In case Toontrack wants something like Jamstix, just team up with Ralph.

Looks like Toontrack did it again: A broken link to the place where you can buy this. I can’t even find out what it costs.

To me it looks like a toy thing. The video showed me nothing I could use. My music arrangers, Kontakt, Superior 2 as is with other instruments in Cubase will do a better job. So is something hidden not yet revealed that will surprise me? Otherwise I will just pass on this one.
