Thank you very much. I just tried it out with a couple of Kontakt instruments, and it works just fine.

Now EZKeys has become what I thought was when I bought the very first release. After the updates it can now remember the chords you entered for your song, and it can drive any instrument through midi. Excellent.

In fact I only have one minor feature request left. That concerns the circle of 5th wheel. It often covers the next chord when you want to enter chords for several bars. So you have to close down the wheel, then choose the next chord. It would be a lot faster entering chords if the wheel had handles and could be moved along the bars.

… I will still buy your B3 once you get around to producing it, even though I can now play the NI organ stuff to great satisfaction.

You did? I will be downstairs to check that out as soon as the wife has gone to sleep…

Now the next thing simply has to be a B3. I can’t imagine they will sample a harpsicord or some other ridiculous keyboard instrument.

Alternatively give me a midi output from EZKeys to drive any synth/sampler. Yes, that would bypass the compulsary Toontrack instruments and then we might not buy the Rhodes from them etc. So it will never happen. I could, of course, just use the chord track in Cubase or Rapidcomposer, but none of these does such a good job of interpreting and transposing midi tracks as EZKeys does.

The shape and blend button in EZM1 could mean a lot of different things, and the text window with info made it all look like a prototype. This has been improved in EZM2. However, I would prefer faders to knobs. And I would prefer textbased compressor, amp, tape etc. with an on/off light to the toyshop that is now in EZM2.

    Yes, I have to agree.

I have most of IKMultimedia’s stuff, NI Guitar Rig, Waves and other. Nevertheless I recently found that the classic 10×8 bass gave me exactly the bass sound I wanted, better than the others. That’s the main reason I decided to buy the amps package when it came out last week. And so far it has some great guitar amps. Unlike Amplitube and others it is a lot easier to audtion and set up. Probably because you don’t have a lot to tweak and then don’t get tempted to waste time tweaking.l

Yes, this is the most exciting new feature in Cubase for me, although I prefer to use Reaper. I will upgrade my Cubase for this, anyway. Not only can the chord track control a single track like EZKeys in principle does. It can control all of your midi tracks. So provided the quality of how the music is transcibed is good, it will beat EZKeys in usability.

… I have never cared for yet another piano sound that comes with EZKeys, only the midi part of it. And I have several times asked for Toontrack to give us a midi output, so that EZKeys could drive organs, violins whatever you have in your sampler like Kontakt. Now Cubase probably will do this for me, and better than EZKeys maybe with multiple tracks and instruments. Alas, I cannot use this in Reaper, so I would still like EZKeys to give me a midi ouput.

I too wish for a B3 more than anything else here. But I guess you are right about them not doing it soon.

In the meantime they could at least give us a midi out so that I could use EZK to drive the organs and other stuff I already have. But unfortunately I too have to guess they wont do that because some of us then migh prefer other instruments than the ones Toontrack provide.

I have loads of straight forward piano backing in styles in Band in a Box. For fun I tried to make 4 or 8 bar piano midis from different styles and imported them in EZKeys. I guess you could make a complete library of simple backing piano that way. But in addition to the time involved in doing so, I also wonder about copyright. You are allowed to produce midi music with Band in a Box, but what if you made a library like this? Would it be too much theft of their styles?

Anyway, I am sure they would not sue you if it was only for personal use.

Just wish PG Music would make something like EZKeys for a single instrument that could use their styles directly in a DAW.

    +1

I asked for this feature when EZK was first released. They have not implemented it in the new version although it should be very simple to do. My guess is they want to sell us the instruments rather than us using different instruments we already have in Kontakt and elsewhere.

But if they wont allow me to play instruments from other sources directly then, please, at least give me a Hammond B3 as the next instrument.

Aarrhhhgg. I have asked so many times for EZKeys to remember my chord sequences, and now my wishes have been granted? And I didn’t notice the update. I could have spent all day Yesterday having fun with this. But today there is a lot of work I need to do …

So it is about 5 months now since I bought EZKeys, haven’t used it at all except the first week.

… because it won’t remember my chord sequence of choice when trying out different styles.

Why aren’t there any other payment options like:
    IDEAL( Netherlands)
    Paypal

The reason why I didnt bought one of your products is because I dont have a credit card.

I always buy downloadable software from Time and Space: http://www.timespace.com/
They take PayPal, so that should be no problem to you. Living in Denmark I am supposed to buy from their Scandinavian dealer , but I don’t due to bad experience with that company. So you can do the same, buying from the British dealer instead, if the one you are supposed to use in Netherlands don’t have PayPal.

I hardly use anything but C&V, and I have several other sample collections, not only by TT. Best snare ever is Chris Whitten’s 1920 Black Beauty.
