That, sir, is a very good call. I’m definitely going to leave one open. Thanks!

Are EZmix 6 pack bundles digital delivery only as well? I just bought one from Sweetwater, but it indicates that it ships, and isn’t digital delivery. Doesn’t make much sense though. Maybe it’s a print mistake?

I just ordered another 6-pack. I’m addicted.
My planned list was Songwriter’s, Rock, Staub, Ainlay, Alternative, and Metal Gtr Gods.
But now you got me thinking about Electronic. I don’t even think I’ve listened to the pack, as I just don’t do that kind of music. Going to listen to it now.
Modern Pop didn’t really sound like my cup of tea from the demos, Needham seemed a little boring and non-specific, and it is one of the older EZM1 packs.
Dirt, I want to like it, but still on the fence. I don’t need extreme dirt, only a little dirt, and a lot of the other packs seem to have plenty of dirty presets.
To sum it up… Songwriter’s, Alternative, and Metal Guitar Gods is a lock. (Like I said I don’t really create metal, but I grew up a metal kids, and if anything, I think it’ll be fun as hell to use this to play for enjoyment if nothing else).
The other three spots are being fought for by Rock, Staub, Dirt, and Ainlay. One of ’em has to go. Who’s it gonna be?

I play guitar all the time through amp plugins, and EZmix is no different.
Just a regular guitar cable to the instrument in on your interface. Create a track in your DAW, throw EZmix on it. Make sure your DAW’s buffer is set to 128 or lower, or you’re going to hear the latency, and it’s pretty much impossible to play while hearing latency.
That’s it.

I know this topic is way more interesting to me than anyone else, so if no one responds, I won’t be shocked. 🙂
So far, I got Henderson & Amps.
I’m pretty happy with both. Amps has something for everyone, and I found a lot of mid-gain rock stuff that I really love. Henderson didn’t disappoint at all. I love the Beetle Bass and Lennon vocal presets. I fired up the Lennon vocal preset and couldn’t help but start belting out Instant Karma and Watching the Wheels. Good stuff.
My next four I’ve narrowed down to Mastering, Vocal Toolbox, Dorfsman, Core and Songwriter’s. I realize one of them has to be cut from the team. I’m thinking Songwriter’s. It is the old school EZmix 1 pack after all. I definitely feel like the last spot is a duel between Core and Songwriter’s. I think Dorfsman has a lock on spot number 3, Mastering definitely has a lock. Vocal Toolbox I’m not dead set on, but it’s probably going to make the team.
Down to Core and Songwriter’s. Decisions, decisions.

This too shall pass. I got up a little early before work to clean up a the kitchen a little bit. She likes that stuff.
Really makes you think about those times you took for granted when you were younger. All that free time you had for music you instead spent playing PlayStation and eating Dominos, amongst other recreational activities.
So glad I’ve been digging back into EZkeys lately. I bought it the day it came out or so, but hadn’t touched it since. I was floored to learn they had that feature (I believe it’s a new feature) where you can map out your chord progression, then apply the groove to it. That has proven crazy useful. I’ve been resurrecting songs of mine that originally had no piano at all, and now doing new versions of them with piano as the central instrument. The songs have taken on some serious new life.
Also just ordered Classic Electrics and the Upright from AudioDeluxe. Call me inspired (and a little sleep deprived).

Thank you! The best answer I could hope for. I purchased pop/rock and that shuffle was exactly what I was looking for. I managed to recreate Wouldn’t it be Nice in no time at all. Thanks again. I even got up at 2am to buy it from Sweetwater, and start working. I woke my 4 year old up, who in turn woke my 8 month old up, as well as my wife. She yelled at me, but i believe it was all worth it. 🙂 thanks again for steering me in the right direction.

FYI, from Toontrack:
Hi Tracey,
No, Toontrack does not compete for pricing or price match.
Toontrack, rarely if ever offers sales at our webshop in order to keep good / non-competitive relationships with our 3rd party dealers.
I received my licenses and installed and am up and running. All is good now. EZMIx is a pretty cool, very limited customizing, but has some great presets and saved me some time. I am no longer a novice engineer, but I am certainly not a pro. somewhere in the middle. made great progress today and EZMix helped!!
Which expansions did you get? Was is just the Metal pack?
I’m going to order the six pack, but I’m undecided on a few of them. I’m looking for recommendations. Thanks.

After starting this thread over a year ago, I’m very happy to see Audio Deluxe has really brought some excellent prices on this stuff. There’s a sale right now actually and I think I’m about to break my no expansion streak and buy the 6 pack. Though I’m not sure which to get. I’m pretty set on Amps, Henderson, Mastering, and Core, but not sure about the other two. I’m thinking possibly Songwriter’s, possibly Dirt, possibly Vocal Toolbox. Really not interested in the Metal stuff I don’t think.
Any recommendations?

This EZX is amazing. My absolute favorite hands down so far. Every other EZX that I like a lot was hitting close to my personal bulls-eye (i.e. Americana, and the Classic, my other two favorites), but this one is dead on. So glad to have these organic drum samples. They fit perfect with most of what I do, and the MIDI grooves are pretty inspiring. Thank you to Toontrack for continuing to venture out into different genres, and for making them so authentic and relevant to their specific genres. Many sample sets I’ve heard are called “Indie” or whatever, but are seldom really what I expect then I hear the word. These are. *Applause*!

Excellent! Very happy to hear it. I just ordered Indie Folk! Very excited about this one. Thanks again Toontrack!

Do you know of all the Indie Folk MIDI pack is included with the EZX? Or is it different MIDI? Thanks.

Great deals, especially for The Classic!

Hi Skiltrip,
Toontrack.com rarely (or more accurately, almost never) offers sales or discounts on our products. This is done is to keep good and Non-competitive relationships with our 3rd party resellers…. These resellers sometimes offer sales, but we are not able to comment on when or if this will happen. My apologies.
One thing I would like to mention though is that now all of the EZmix presets that are included in a specific pack are listed on the product page under “Details”
This may help in the decision making process. 😉
Thanks for the info, and I’m glad you have added some further info in the details section. I also like the audio sample that have been made available, showing different guitar tones, different bass tones, vocal effects, etc.

1) Many, including myself were expecting more from this product.
I’ll accept that. Personally, what I thought I was getting and what I got were one in the same.
2) What EZ Keys does well, it seems to do very well.
Couldn’t agree more. It proved it’s usefulness to me immediately.
3) There are more then a handful of what seem like obvious no brainer editing options missing.
I disagree. Though everyone’s needs are different, I get that. I think you should rephrase that as “There are more than a handful of editing options that I want/need that are not part of EZkeys feature-set”.
4) The current “Extensive Midi Library” is in reality, very small and limited.
Matter of opinion I guess. I think it’s pretty darned good. There could always be more, of course. But if you can’t get going with what they’ve included in the box, lack of MIDI patterns isn’t your problem.
5) The history of Toontrack products suggest that the release of EZ Keys was possibly rushed and doesn’t really stand up to the past standards of the company.
Again, I disagree. EZkeys seems as polished as anything they’ve released. Even more so in a lot of ways. And stability is a rock solid 100%, something that a lot of companies don’t necessarily strive for (at the very least, it’s seldom achieved). I think in future versions they could very well expand on and improve the software. Why wouldn’t they. But too say it’s rushed and doesn’t stand up to Toontrack standards is silly.
6) Having to purchase future expansions only to bring the current state of the product up to expectations, would be a let down.
Here I’m going to agree with you somewhat. And this is a direction that Toontrack has been heading further and further into. Where the real money is in add-ons and expansions. I hate what they did with the EZmix expansions, and their ridiculous price points. And my gut tells me that expanding EZkeys will be no different. These will not be cheap add-ons. And if you do need expansions in order for it to fulfill you needs, then EZkeys might not be worthwhile to have around. That’s how I’m feeling about EZmix. I know I’ll never expand on it at the current expansion prices. And the actual uses I’ve found for it so far are few and far between.
7) Pre advertisements don’t seem to mesh totally with what the product actually does.
For me, this goes back to your item #1. I feel like it’s exactly what they advertised. But at the end of the day, maybe there’s features/abilities that I just don’t need, therefore it hasn’t even occurred to me that anything might be missing.
