Yep, all I can add is to clearly say the tom you don’t want is part of the groove… as in a midi note.
If you don’t like the tom hit, remove the midi note when it appears in the midi groove.
It’s basically the same as telling the drummer not to hit the tom, but all EZdrummer performances (grooves) are midi based.
Yes, you need a DAW like Cubase, Logic, Reaper etc…..
Toontrack has it’s own host called ‘Solo’, but compared to a standard DAW it’s much more limited in what you can do. ‘Solo’ is much more aimed at real time performance.
In my opinion, if you want to take advantage of the positive features in EZdrummer or Superior, a computer sequencer such as Logic, or Reaper is definitely the way to go.
Yes, agreeing with several preceding posts.
As well as a slight velocity difference, one huge difference is tone.
The DFH product is bright and hard. It’s a rock drumkit sampled for use in dense rock mixes.
The Classic is designed to be warmer and fuller. less emphasis on bright rimshots and clicky bass drums.
In editing and customizing it’s possible to dial back the attack of DFH, and likewise dial in some more aggressive attack in The Classic, but played right out of the box, both products perform to the goals they set out to achieve.
‘The Classic’ is a medium room IMO.
But I take your point, I think small and medium rooms can be more interesting than the bombastic bigger rooms.
It’s also a question of balance, and taking all the different drum sample companies into account, there does seem to be an emphasis on the big room rock sound.
Yep.
All Toontrack products are bothy PC and Mac.
Only EZX’s are fully downloadable.
Superior and expansions require discs for full install.
The bottom line is, there isn’t a 4 x authorizations then you are screwed situation. You can request further authorizations as you need them, and some past authos might be deleted to free up new ones. So you can’t have four or more running at one time, but if you lose one because of a replaced HD, you can request a new one.
Yes, one mic does not set the standard for an entire product line.
Most likely the gate was used very lightly on a very noisy source (like a guitar amp distortion unit).

Noise Gate disable on mics (Don’t think I don’t listen closely)
Not on any product I’ve had a hand in.
I think you might be hearing the sample fades.
All drums and cymbals are recorded wide open. But you have to end the sample somewhere. Once the ring of the drum has faded, all you’re left with is background noise, and that’s generally where Toontrack put a fade.
The way I edit grooves, move notes and change velocities is in Logic’s piano roll note editor.
I’ve done the same in PT.
So my question would be, what would you want in a Superior editor that you don’t find in a DAW’s note edit functions?
