You can record the MIDI straight to the song track of SD3, by record enabling SD3, press play and then play on the e-drums.

When I use SD3 in Logic Pro X, I have the MIDI in SD3, and usually use stereo out, and I do the drum mixing inside SD3. Sometimes I use multi out, if I want to do certain stuff in Logic with the individual instruments, for example use the kick to trigger a side chain for my bass.

You can have SD3 running in Logic Pro X and have the MIDI either on the Instrument Track in Logic, or in the Song Track of SD3.

If you have the MIDI on the Instrument Track in LPX, the easiest way to transfer it into SD3 is to record enable SD3 and press play in Logic. This will record the midi to SD3, and you can then edit it using the Grid Editor, Edit Plays Style, etc.

If the record button in SD3 is disabled, this is probably because you have the Grid Editor opened. When you close it, the record button should be enabled again. Currently you can’t record stuff with the Grid Editor tab opened, but we know that it would be useful to be able to record while having this tab opened, so we will look at this for future updates.

Please post any further questions you may have here!

Have you added EZdrummer as a plugin on a Instrument Track in Logic Pro X?

Can you get any sound from EZdrummer, for example just by clicking on a drum in the interface?

    • If not, can you get sound from any plugins in Logic?

Ezdrummer 2 can’t be resized, Superior Drummer 3 hower has that option. This is because Superior Drummer 3 was built from scratch using a technology that can handle resizing, scaling, etc., which EZdrummer 2 isn’t built upon, e.g. it’s not possible for us to just add scaling/resizing into EZdrummer 2.

I have bought 2 packs, have the receipt in my email but no products show up.
When I downloaded product manager, it autofilled my other email and now every time I reinstall the product manager, it uses the wrong email.
Contacted support, but it will take ages for them to reply!

I don’t have the answer for this question, so please post this question as a new thread, your question might get overlooked by the other support staff when it’s asked on this thread!

Bleed is the audio from an instrument that is captured in microphones that wasn’t intended for capturing that sound. This sound will be different from the sound captured in the close microphones, so blending the bleed with the close mic audio will produce something else than just duplicating the close mic audio. This wouldn’t add anything to the audio, except a louder signal, or possibly a phasing sound – if they aren’t aligned. So adding the sound that is the main sound as bleed wouldn’t produce the same thing as a real recorded bleed.

To add convolution reverbs, or other effects, is tricky because of the reasons I wrote above. But I understand that it would be useful when importing audio, to make it glue together better with the current kit. I’ll take a note of your idea, thanks for the feedback!

    • Try to reinstall the EZdrummer 2 software
    • Make sure that Cubase is using the VST plugin path where EZdrummer 2 DLL is placed.
      • E.g., don’t move the DLLs, that will cause problems for you in the future – for example when removing or updating the software

Does this solve the problem for you? If it does, do the same thing with EZmix.

Cubase shouldn’t crash if projects with uninstalled plugins are opened.

Have you manually moved/copied the EZdrummer 2 Demo DLL file to the Cubase VST path? This can be an issue, since when you uninstall the EZdrummer 2 demo, the DLL file isn’t removed (since it has been manually moved).

If this is the case, look in the path where Cubase searches for VST plugins and delete the EZdrummer 2 Demo.

Clicks pops slowing down and sounding like crap.

Have you tried what Stefan wrote earlier in this thread?

    •  You might also try to change the number of CPU cores used by superior, using only one core seems to work better for me with Logic’s “Live Input Mode”.

Have you checked the CPU meter in Logic, to see if there are any spikes when the clicks occur?

So, I came looking for answers, and end up with a suggestion:

    • Allow Meter change within song track. If a song is mainly 4/4 but has a couple of bars of 3/4 during a change, one cannot have these changes reflected in the EZ Keys song track. Yes, you can go in and trim the relevant measures to be 3/4, but from there onward, the bar numbers don’t match the DAW, and you likely end up with each bar now starting somewhere in between the song track bar markers.
    • I’d love to see a B3 type addon with appropriate MIDI Library. (OK, two suggestions.)

    Thanks for the feedback/ideas!
