i have not the midi packs just the expansion packs = drum kits

for me all the sounds sound good

but sometimes, it sounds a little bit dark or not powerful enough vs Garage band and its own drummer

try the uk pop expansion (it was made for that ) or  change the pitch to a higher pitch of one snare drum in ezd 2

yes the hard rock expansion has just one preset which is very close to the black album about the snare drum

 

but i look for something to sound like the load and reload album

in concert, the snare drum sounds harder, louder

in cd, it’s softer  with reverb

why i used Garage band first is because the sounds were good enough and there were a real mix  : for snare drum

toms, cymbals and hi hat and percussion so, we could make some  good mix settings

with EZD 1 there was not a mix for the cymbals except for the hi hat

With EZD 2,  i think it solved so,  it’s good 🙂 for every cymbals too

To get a rock sound, classic  snare drum sound

the  best are EZD1 pop-rock (piccolo and loud) and rock!  and NAsvhille (softer)

i have heard that it was a mapping problem
i think garage band is for the beginners so, no mapping program inside

i have midi pipe (a software)
i tried but no results so, i really don’t know what to do waiting for a solution
So, in fact all my packs from Toontrack are not at 100% because of that

i am waiting for a solution
Example: try the ROCK PACK _ EXPANSION EZX WITH EZD 1 or 2 (i have EZD 1)
with the VINTAGE PUNCH SNARE (the 2d preset) : it does not sound good= the drumstick does not hit the center but the sides (it sounds reggae, timbales )

when i program garage band to play just the snare drum +bass drum (without any cymbals together) i have the real and good one of the snare drum (like the in demos )
but just for this setting
if i want a rhythm with cymbals, it does not sound good for the snare drum
so, it is unusable
