Thanks. I did that in the end but, it was not easy to navigate for someone who’s never had to do it.
why can’t you just have some simple customer service contact info. A straightforward email address, a phone number, or a live chat, with humans at the end of it.
For what Toontrack charge for things, and as much as I love the products, the customer service should definitely be better. I’ve never had problems with my products, just the sales and accounting side of it, and it’s THAT department that is hardest to get a hold of!

I’m having the same issue. There are extensive options for all things ROCK, but ALL Toontrack software seems to overlook a LOT of roots music and more subtle styles. I play a lot of traditional country, 50’s rock ‘n’ roll, blues and rockbilly. They have the kits in there, sounding great too, but no “wires off” option, which is essential IMO, and also they have used modern drummers to create the loops who clearly have not listened to how drums USED to be played.
PLEASE TOONTRACK, look after your loyal users. I have 120 Toontrack products, and this very basic stuff is STILL missing.
Not everyone is a Rock and Metal player. How about “Country Month”, or “Rockabilly Month”?

I’m having issues with the playhead too. Alt-Return sends the playhead back to the start, but the view doesn’t go with it! Then I press play (Alt-Space) and the playhead jumps back to a random place in the song where I was last working. There doesn’t seem to be any behaviour options for the playhead and it’s bugging the hell out of me, not to mention wasting lots of my valuable time!

Wow this is so annoying, I can’t believe this is how people use it, I must be missing something…

“Space” being play is second nature to me, and I can’t get used to “shift+space” being start and stop from within the grid editor. I keep hitting only space and then Logic starts playing from whichever random point the playhead was at, and the timeline shifts and argh 🙂 🙂

And then when I kind of get used to shift+space, then when I exit SD3, I keep hitting the combo while in Logic. Is something wrong with me?? 😀 😀

Having an option where both timelines and playheads are 100% synced would be awesome… For example as ReWire works with Logic and Reason…

Thanks for your post. I no longer feel so alone in my struggles! 😀
I find the whole “playhead” system really annoying because I have to remember a different set of commands for each unit. Why couldn’t they just have EZD, SD3, EZKeys, EZBass work with the same controls when “Follow Host” isn’t turned on.
Also, what is going on with the playhead controls in the Toontrack software? None of the manual address how to make it stay in place, return to start or anything. I had to troll the interweb to find out about the “shift-spacebar” and ‘alt-spacebar” commands, neither of which are what I want. How do I send it back to the start, zoom in in place, and generally stop jumping away from the area I’m trying to edit?
To be honest, as much as I love my Toontrack stuff, having them all look very similar in layout, yet all very different in practice, is a pain. Bandmate, AudioTracker, etc.. All very similar on the surface, with different names, different functions and different features. I spend a LOT of my time trying to do simple things, only to realise that I’m trying to do something that is a feature of a different app and wondering where certain functions are!!

    Hi Jord
I have tried renaming my “User Midi” and “User Midi” folders by using the drop down list, but as soon as I click away from it, it reverts to the default name, ie, “track 1”, or “new folder”. It’s incredibly frustration to see the function there and yet it does not work. I’m having the same problem in EZD3 (version 3.0.6) and SD3 (version 3.3.6)
    Regards,
    Rick

    Hi John
I’m using EZ Drummer 3 (Version 3.0.6, not listed on the versions list below) to create my own drum loops, and there IS an option to create new folders, rename folders, rename files, etc…
What I would like to know is why won’t the new name save? I can select the folder or file and type in the new name, but as soon as I click or hit shift, the file or folder reverts back to the default “Track 1” or “new folder”.
It’s very frustrating because I want to build a database of loops for my 50’s rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly and traditional country loops that Toontrack has completely overlooked as genres, instead focusing on a myriad of “Rock” titles, but it’s impossible when I can’t organise them and/or name them in their categories.
Sorry, I had to get that in there. 😉
    Thanks,
    Rick

I’m having the same issue with EZD3 in Logic. For some reason, whenever I hit the crash at the start of a bar, it chokes instead of ringing out as soon as I go back to the hi-hats. Never had this issue with EZD, EZD2 or SD3.

I’m not having any issues myself but, a friend of mine, who I recommended Toontrack products to, is. He’s bought EZMix2, download and installed it, installed Mastering I and II, but is being told that he needs to update EZMix2 before he can use them. He’s ALREADY got the latest version. He uninstalled and reinstalled, but gets the same message.
Why are people suddenly having these issues. Toontrack MUST address this. I feel bad for recommending this to him now.
