I think it is still available in some retail sites. I presume you’ll have a serial number in the box and can authorise that way, but I’m pretty sure that TT won’t sell you a serial number directly any more.

Ask if anyone will sell you one second-hand. Bear in mind that it’s pretty well limited to 32-bit OS only, someone did post a workaround to get it accepted by Win7-64, but it sounded a bit involved and no reports on its long term stability.

Sounds like it is a mistake, no malicious intention, one of the mods will be along soon to point you who to talk to.

I use REAPER too, although I don’t have MM.

I think most MIDI packs will cover a basic drum and cymbal set, MM may use more, but it is very easy to add, move or transpose hits from one instrument to another. I usually delete quite a few hits from any MIDI “grooves” I use, or “split hands” and move the odd hit to a different instrument or articulation (type of hit) for interest or “flavour”.

Quite happy to help with any further questions or problems you have…

If I understand you correctly, just move MIDI notes in your DAW’s sequencer, change an event from one note number to another.

The MIDI grooves tend to be consistent for “Ride Cymbal1”, “Ride Cymbal2”, “CrashCymbal1”, “Crash Cymbal2”, etc. What actual cymbals are used then depends on the EZX. MM will, due to its genre tend to have more cymbals, so the MIDI may not cover more than the lower numbers and you will have to edit and modifiy the grooves in your MIDI Editor/Sequencer -but you do that anyway don’t you?

Press the “?” button and look at/print the MIDI mappings. Compare them with the mappings for the EZX pack you get your MIDI from, or look at the MIDI notes used in your editor.

Do you use a DAW where you can name the drum notes? -there are lists for most EZXs ready-made on the web for you to import into your editor.

Once you register your software with TT and get a user account, you will be able to access user areas (support, etc).

If you have a TT user account and you still can’t get in, make some noise and a mod will look into it for you.

Are you a user or potential user Sonic?

I’m still using it as I’m on XP32.

I was looking forward to seeing what a rework would produce, I now need to look at something else for my workstation upgrade to 64-bit. Come on TT, where are you taking us?

    ORIGINAL: wrees

Oh, I totally agree that we don’t need another DAW *like those ones*. But I would argue that the *user experiences* of the DAW’s you mentioned are actually very similar: several “integrated” panels of distracting knobs/buttons/sliders/menus/icons all performing separate functions of dubious immediate value, too many options …

Heh, if you want simple, there’s garageband, but once you grow out of that, look at REAPER, it won’t cost you to look, and once the immediate needs have been met, find what else it can do.

I wouldn’t be happy with anything like this that didn’t perform more than my immediate needs

    That’s good to hear.

A bit expensive for us this side of the pond (it cost me shipping and duty), but for those wanting it in their setup, it’s still an option.
