Yes, this is something we definitely want to implement/improve.

3 years later and still nothing changed.

I wish I could be so efficient at my work.  😀

I’ve been using Toontrack products since 2017.
I have both EZDrummer and Superior Drummer as well as EZBAss, but I’m dreading to buy any new libraries as the service part of TT is a nightmare.

Very slow download speeds and as OP pointed out need to go through unnecessary steps to install a simplest update are atrocious!

I am hoping we will get SD4 soon but I am not looking forward to all the hassle that comes with download and installation.

It’s baffling that this post has been created 11 tears ago and nothing has changed since.  😀

I just replied to another topic with the seme issue.

There is a post there from a year ago where someone tested download speeds with VPN and it didn’t change much.

It’s Toontrack’s servers that are crap, not the location or connection.

Heh… I see nothing has improved over the years.

It took me 4 hours to download my entire Spitfire Audio library yesterday which is 1,35 TB!
Today I just started downloading Fields of Rock SDX which is 161 GB and it tells me it will finish in 3h and 35min… Really ?

It’s been years since I downloaded anything from Toontrack and I’ve forgotten how slow it is.
Could you please join the rest of modern world finally?

Oh… never mind it just jumped to 5h 10min…    😀

EDIT: It’s getting better and better 😀

Did you check your MIDI drum settings? Maybe the note is assigned to the “wrong” sound?

Check this video out https://youtu.be/G3tdAYqRaX8 It’s Toontrack’s video about setting Edrums

    Hi Stefan

When you start installation of EZD3 you should have been given an option to choose installation directory or just accept the default one.

If you just accepted the default one then it’s probably on your C drive in Program Files>Toontrack folder. In that folder you should have a VST folder as well.

Just run your Cubase and rescan your VST plugins.

I would keep the EZD2 installed as this gives you access to all the content that came in with EZD2.

EZDrummer 3 does not replace EZDrummer 2, it’s a separate application.

    Hello.

I run Cubase 12 Pro on Windows 10 and tested Bandmate feature yesterday and didn’t have any problems.

I did all the testing within Cubase project, meaning I had EZD3 open as an instrument track. I didn’t try to move it to EZD3 running as a separate instance outside DAW.

    7am in Europe.

I guess we will have to wait for Americans to wake up first… They are always last with everything…   😉

    Yes.

I have done exactly that. Initially bought EZD2 that I upgraded to SD2 which I upgraded to SD3 and I still got the discounted upgrade price for EZD3, so you should be fine.

Rick said something along the lines “it will use all the MIDI available in the Grooves tab”, I hope it means User created MIDI as well.

I guess as long as those are drum groves and not melody lines like piano or bass MIDI. It’s only a couple of days left, we will see on Tuesday.  🙂

This *should* be trivially easy, but I find no way to rename/retitle a Block in the SD3 Track.  How?  I see you can change the color (by changing the Song Part) but I want to change the name/title to something meaningful, instead of “Hats Tight” or somesuch.  (And where the heck does “Hats Tight” come from, when in the Groove Browser it’s clearly named “Verse 01”?

A very related feature request: display the Block names in the Grid Editor.  It’s nice that at least Grid Editor uses the Block colors, but the names would be handy, too.

I would also love to know the answer to this, as it’s hard sometimes to keep track of which files are being used in the arrangement when the titles don’t match.

The “Hats Tight” or whatever else name is displayed comes from the Edit Play Style settings.

You can have a groove called Verse 01 but the default play style will be set to Hats Tight, so that’s the name that is displayed. When you change the play style to “Hi-Hat Open Tip 2” for example, then this will be the name displayed. You can move the power hand to Ride and the name will follow that setting.

I hope that clears the issue a bit.  🙂

We are closing to the end of 2021 and still didn’t have any update on this topic. It is very annoying to have just names like Instrument 1 etc.

I have added couple of extra cymbals and some other stuff to my kit and editing the stuff is a nightmare.

I had to write down on a piece of paper what the “Instruments” actually are to keep track of what’s what….
