+1 from me for a Toontrack iPad product.
I’ve recently equipped an iPad and on my Sequenzer/Sampler/Synth shopping spree in the Appstore the lack of good drum sounds was obvious.
Something like Sampletank but with more indepth controls for drums and round robins would be nice.
Since the effects for EZMix are provided by Overloud (as I was told by Scott in this thread: http://www.toontrack.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=129356&mpage=1&key=🥻 , also in the startup window of the demo it says “DSP effects algorithm developed by Overloud under the supervision of Toontrack”) I’m guessing they’re simply using their plugins!
Their plugins do have a good reputation (Breverb first and foremost) and within the hands of the right person can surely shape great sounds!
I messed around with the demo recently and was pretty impressed by what it does (could have and additional 1 or 2 controls and it would still be EZ, but I’m guessing they’d sell less preset expansions then).
That being said, for what it is, the EZMix series is too expensive IMO.
If the expansions are 39 bucks each give away the core application for free without presets since it’s a presets only thing.
This request came up earlier on this forum.
The answer was pretty much: not possible/too complicated, not gonna happen with SD2.
yeah, sounds great so far!
So, is there going to be an SDX from the same sessions in the future?
I’ll probably get no answer but my guess is, there will be.
I’d buy the EZX if I knew there wasn’t…
Well, thanks for finally replying at least!
I hope you guys come up with this one day as I’m not using the EZX because of this.
It just takes too long to audition sounds.
Hi Scott, thanks for your suggestion. I just came back to tell that I tried to unzip the beatstation folder before running the installation.
It installed properly.
I’ve never had problems not unzipping folders before running the installer (is that the usual procedure, as it is not recommended in the readme?)
So, at this point things seem to be good.
However, the system crash (and the system not booting after that) in my opinion had someting to do with the installation of EZmix demo. I’ve never had that kind of thing before and it just happened in that moment, without anything else running.
I also ran EZmix demo installer without unzipping the folder before. Can that be a reason? If so, why didn’t it happen again and why hasn’t that been the case with the other installers I ran?
Well, I just hope I won’t have a dark moment as last night again!
EDIT: In regards to your second suggestion: I did have administration rights all the time.
This is my audio PC where I try to keep everything as simple and basic all the time.
Update: After several tries with the help of an IT friend I managed to boot the system.
Backuped everything necessary. Phew.
Time to experiment.
Ran the installer again. This time it went fine, for whatever reason.
Tried the same with the Beatstation demo.
I get the error: “Error 1311. Source file not found:
…AppdataLocalTempRar$DI00.272Plug64.cab.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.”
Maybe the tech guys can tell me what this is about?
Any help much appreciated.
Hi Chris, thanks for your concern. There are 32 and 64 installers once you’ve downloaded the PC version.
Not sure why that forum is all about Mac. Maybe because PC is meant to be all safe and easy…?
However, the answer I’ll get is probably that the demo is basically the full version installer and that this hasn’t been reported before i.e. problem on my end.
I need some sleep, hope I can at
least recover some of the data.
Isn’t the Metalheads thing just a part of Metal Foundry repacked?
First Ezx in the last 12 months, no new recordings?
Well, then good work from the marketing guys though.
We know there’ll be a Jazz SDX next made from the same sessions as the Jazz EZX.
This could lead to the assumption that there may be a Funk SDX and an Electronic SDX coming.
But wait, that would be too boring for Martin to be psyched about.
I always have them a bit behind so I mark all midi events and pull them alltogether to the proper position.
Not sure why that happens.
Flams are pretty ok here though.

…, I’d have been better off spending that $20 on beer.
hmmmm, beer…
the thing is, for beer I also have just one input channel.
It does work well in 64bit though.
