    Hi,

are you using a MIDI Preset in the MIDI In/E-drums settings for your eDrumin kit?
If so, are you sure it is applied when using the EZX?
All Toontrack libraries follow a GM Extended layout, so unless it is a highly specialised EZX, the triggering of E-drums should be similar.
Unless you have altered the note layout, of course.

    Hi,

are you asking about where you find the paths?
If so, the path to your ‘Downloads’ folder is displayed in the Preferences for the Product Manager.
The path to your library can be seen either in the product’s Installation Info in the Product Manager or in the SD3 Settings > Libraries/Paths.

    Hi Bryan,

please elaborate. Is this in the Toontrack Product Manager? If so, do you get the error by just launching the app or is it when you try updating?
Have you tried changing the ‘Downloads’ location to your Desktop?

    Hi William,

are you by any chance using EZdrummer 3 and not Superior Drummer 3?

    Hi,

how it worked with EZdrummer 2 (if memory serves me right) was that you used the Bank MSB (0-127) to select the library and the Program Change (0-127) to select the preset from the currently loaded library. The exact numbers depended on how many EZX libraries you had installed. The User Presets “library” was the last one, i.e. if you had 26 EZX:s installed, library 27 should be selected and then the preset in question.

I don’t think this works exactly the same with EZdrummer 3 but if you start with selecting a User Preset, then send Program changes, it should work. Bear in mind that your first preset will be ‘0’,, your fifth preset ‘4’, etc.

    LSB has no significance.

    Yes,
that should be perfectly safe but if you are unsure, please post a screenshot of the path to the library from either the PM or the SD3 plug-in/app and also a screenshot of the path to your ‘Downloads’ in the Product Manager Preferences.

    Hi nmc4114,

the confusion is about some users not realising the difference between the files you Download for installation and the subsequently installed library.
Once you have run the Installer and the library is installed, the downloaded installation files can be deleted.
If you for some reason have installed the library into the location of your Downloads folder and clear the Downloads folder, you naturally clear the library as well.

E.g. my Downloads go int o my ‘User/Downloads/Toontrack’ folder on my system drive, which I am fully aware is a temporary location.
My installed Libraries go into a ‘Superior Drummer 3’ folder on my external SSD drive.

Moving the installed library post installation is something else, this can be desirable for anyone who e.g. is running out of disk space.
Adding alternative library paths is for users who have a Full Library Install on e.g. a big drive when in the studio and a partial smaller Library Install on a portable drive.

    I hope this clarifies.

Hi, you have to start Pro Tools in Rosetta mode. EZdrummer 2 is not Silicon Native compatible.

    Hi,

I am sorry, I wrote ‘Additional paths’ instead of ‘Additional libraries’, which you can see to the lower left of my screen shot.
You don’t need to relocate the Toontrack MIDI and EZX:s or the User Presets, they are very small in comparison to the SDX:s.

Superior SDX library installers have a ‘Customise’ option to let you install the SDX where you wish to have it installed. They can be installed in just about any location, even network drives (but the loading times are suboptimal). You do not need to have all your SDX:s installed in the same location or the same drive.
You do have to have all parts of an SDX in the same place, though. I.e. you cannot have Parts 1 of the Core library installed in one location and then install other parts of it to another location. If you have Part 1 installed on your System drive and don’t have room for installing more Parts, you first relocate the ‘SL-SuperiorDrummer3’ folder by simply moving it in the Finder/Explorer, then you start SD3, go to the Settings>Libraries/Paths and point to this new location.
Close SD3 and launch the PM to install the other Parts of the Core Library.

If you have any other SDX:s that are already installed, you can do the same; move them first to the new location, then launch SD3 and point to the new location. If you install new SDX:s, do not skip past the ‘Customise’ button if you wish to install directly to the desired location.

    I hope this clarifies,
    John

    Hi,

if you run the latest software updater, click ‘Customise’ and make sure ‘Superior Drummer standalone application’ is checked. Does it still not show up in the ‘Applications/Toontrack’ folder?

    Hi,

if memory serves me right, the Hi-Hat has a special way of treating multiple hits but I would say that the feature you are looking for is ‘Smoothing’ (formerly called MHE – Multiple Hits Emulation):
