    Hi,

I have never seen that happen myself, where are you exporting to? Which Library and preset are you using?
Are you using the Standalone app or the plug-in? If plug-in, which host? Does this happen every time you Export as Audio or with specific Projects?

FWIW, I just tried exporting the Song Track as Audio file from EZkeys 2 in both Win11 and macOS 13.6.4 to different locations, Desktop and external drive and got expected results.

    Hi Max,

you should be able to connect the MIDI Out from the 1st instance to the 2nd via the Environment in Logic but the quick way to get MIDI from the Song Track of the 1st to the 2nd is to have both plug-in windows open, lasso select all song parts on the 1st Song Track and just drag over to the 2nd Song Track.

The transitions between different openness states is not smooth at all; it’s like an abrupt staircase where each steps sounds like a new audio file turning on instantly and its sounds incredibly unnatural.

    Hi,
could you please record a short piece when this happens and provide both the audio and MIDI? Preferably the SD3 Project? If you can, please zip archive and attach to a post here.

    Hi,

this should work just fine, I am a bit puzzled by ‘I’ve went into SD settings and added the additional library path for my SSD‘. Could you please post a screen shot of the paths to your Libraries? And clarify which path would be correct?

    Hi Sec01,

do you have the DM7X connected via USB? Which OS are you on? Did you check out the Alesis Drummer Forum?

    Hi Johnny,

is your TD-27 module at factory settings?
Did you start by loading the TD-27 MIDI Preset on the MIDI In/E-drum Settings page in SD3 and tweak from there?
Did you save the tweaked TD-27 MIDI Preset as your own User preset?

    Hi,

the Orchestral SDX Timpani are sampled from Eb1 to Bb2. If you only need the Timpani, there’s a couple of presets with only Timpani to start from and make your note assignment adjustments.

If you need the Timpani added to your kit with regular drums, I suggest you set up the regular kit Instruments first, then add the Timpani tunings you need as Added Instruments and find note assignments for them outside the range of your regular kit. Easiest would be extra pads and as many as you need tuned notes. You also have both Open and Mute articulations for the Timpani.

    Hi bartpop,

you can always copy SDX libraries that are already installed in one location, to another. If you have downloaded and installed the SD3 software, just open it and go to Settings > Libraries/Paths… and ‘Add library path…’ to add your SDX libraries.

If you have EZdrummer 2/3 installed along with Toontrack MIDI, you copy the entire ‘EZdrummer’ folder on your 1st HD (normally in ‘Library/Application Support/’ to your 2nd HD and then start EZdrummer 2/3 on that Mac (of course the software needs to be installed first) to locate the ‘EZdrummer’ folder.
If you do not have EZdrummer 2/3 installed but use EZX:s and/or Toontrack MIDI, you go to the same Settings in SD3 as above but scroll down to ‘Additional Libraries’ and set the location of your newly copied ‘EZdrummer’ folder.

    Well,
I guess you have to ask Ableton about that.
To me it seems like a bug but I do not see how SD3 could be responsible for what is or isn’t sent to the plug-in from the host.
It’s the host that controls the plug-in, not the other way around.

    Hi Martin,

no such general option, no. There are EZX:s with Wires Off Snares sampled, a few I can think of are:
Americana EZX, Big Band EZX, Big Stage EZX, Classic Rock EZX, Kicks & Snares EZX, Nashville EZX, Post-Metal EZX, Post-Rock EZX and Signature Part 2 EZX.

These all have at least one snare with that option but some have more. I recommend checking them out on their respective product page.

    Hi Jim,

which version are we talking about?

In EZdrummer 2, there is a menu in the upper right corner of the Song Track to Export Track to WAV. In EZdrummer 3, there is a ‘Track’ Menu item in the main menu system, where you can find ‘Bounce’ to Export Song to Audio File(s).

    Well,

you can do pretty much but it requires some patience and it will of course not behave the same as a Toontrack Instrument.
If you have e.g. a Snare sampled at 5 different velocities and also through 1 mono (direct) and 2 stereo mics (oh+amb), you can take these 15 files and stack them on the Snare position. Then set the Velocity Gate Property Box for each stack sample, for the range each sample will be heard, adjust curves and levels, etc. Finally, you right-click to enter Route Instrument microphones and either send the mono and stereo samples to existing microphone channels or create new ones.

    Save your Project when done.

    Hi,

does it make any difference if you un-check ‘only load plug-ins needed for project playback’ in your Project Settings > General?

I can get the occasional Audio Engine Inactive message on my M1 Max MacBook Pro but it disappears as soon as I hit play and I never notice any audio hiccups.

    Hi David,

you can follow this FAQ on how to move the EZkeys Libraries (sound and MIDI) repository:

    https://www.toontrack.com/faq/can-i-relocate-the-ezbass-sound-library-folder-to-my-external-drive/

The FAQ is for EZbass but the principle is the same, just replace ‘EZbass’ with ‘EZkeys’.

Any manual moving of subfolders in the ‘EZkeys’ main folder is not supported and will break functionality and updaters.

    John
