– What version of Superior Drummer 3 are you using?
– When Live crashes, do you get a popup that says that Superior Drummer 3 caused the crash?
When you press ctrl + z in Ableton 10, that is a shortcut for undoing in Live. If the last thing you did was to add Superior Drummer 3, that will be undone, e.g. SD3 will be removed. If you meant to undo something in SD3, use keyboard shortcut alt + z.

Superior Drummer 3 can listen to multiple MIDI controllers at the same time. If you for example have your TouchOSC sending MIDI note 36, that would play the kick, and the traditional MIDI controller sends 38, you can play the snare with that. So in this basic way its possible.

Ok, thanks for the clarification! I’ll take a note of your feature request!

Check your e-mail, you should have gotten a mail containing a registration key that you enter into product manager to register the MIDI pack to your account…

If you are using EZdrummer 2 or Superior Drummer 3, you can drag those MIDI files into Tap2Find to find similar sounding grooves. Enable “Show Web Shop MIDI” to see results from the entire Toontrack catalogue of MIDI…

May I ask why that would be preferable over playing the background song with a regular media player simultaneously as running SD3? We have discussed having jam options in our software (loading MP3:s etc), but have (so far) decided that we should focus on other areas instead of that, since the backing tracks can be played with any other media software…

You need to add a snare as a New Instrument and use that, since your regular snare position is occupied with a brush snare.

Right click the groove you like and either use with Song Creator, to get suggestions on verses, choruses etc., or use with Tap2Find – to find similar sounding grooves.
When no filters are used, the files have an internal priority order, where we have sorted them so that basic, standard grooves ends up in the top of the list. You can actually turn off the internal priority order in the Grooves menu, but most users will want to have that enabled.

Thanks for the detailed report. I can reproduce that now, and I’ll talk to the coders to find out why it behaves like this! I’ll get back to you when I know more…

Cool idea, but super hard to do
We have to simulate the microphones, the room ambience, the polarity etc., instead of recording the drums as we do right now… But if you aim for the stars you may at-least end up on the moon 🙂 Thanks for the feedback/idea!

So all your MIDI is in Pro Tools, none is playing on the song track of EZdrummer 2? Make sure that Follow Host is disabled in EZdrummer 2 if you have MIDI on that track, since duplicate MIDI files may be played at the same time otherwise.
If you can’t figure this problem out, can you save a version of your Pro Tools session with only the EZdrummer 2 track? That is, if the problem persists if you clean your Pro Tools project, “Save As…” a new project, and the problem is still there…
Zip that Pro Tools project and post it here so we can have a look at it.

Ok. Do you have any idea of when it starts to behave like that, or can it happen all the time? Like when starting a fresh project, and directly trying to drag a MIDI file from SD3 to Logic Pro X?

Yes, all your Toontrack MIDI packs will show up in SD3. Almost all (if not all) functions from EZplayer will be available in SD3 – but use SD3 for a while until you get used to it, and then remove EZplayer Pro!
