Awesome, these producer packs are SO useful…. big thanks to toontrack for getting these out….. While you’re at it, more songwriter packs would be very welcome as well!

    +1

Honestly, Avatar was a library I hardly used, because the presets for the other expansions are so great. For $9 each, the Allen Morgan & Steven Slate presets packs rock Avatar! I feel like I just got another expansion!

    Nice work – again!

Similar question here. If I want to play in a hihat part via MIDI keyboard, is there a way of mapping the CC to the mod wheel?

    Short answer: Yes.

LOL – OK thanks I’ll let him know. That makes me curious what the “long answer” involves. 🙂

I can’t find a way to assign the Browser play button to a MIDI keyboard. Is that possible? I guess what I’m after is all Browser related & not arranger track.

    ☺ Thanks mfefc!

Sure – funny thing about why it sounds kinda “The Edgey”…… I was mucking about on the Vetta II Combo, trying to make a patch for the U2 song “All I want is you”, and using a strat came up with this patch. I have a Carvin Bolt Plus with a H-S-H config that I plugged in, just to see how the guitar would sound on that patch, and this song just spilled out in about 15 minutes. I basically recorded the rhythm guitar & melody in 2 takes, and I kept thinking, yeah I should redo this with the strat and it’ll sound better. I tried the strat and liked the Carvin better (I was kinda surprised but I just went with the ears instead of the brand). The only thing I redid was the outro which I wrote about a week later.

So it’s a mic’d Vetta II Combo, using the AC30 model, with an e609 on one speaker & an SM57 on the other. I used a DIGIMAX D8 Preamp & went optical ADAT into a Pro Tools 96 i/o. Almost all the effects were from the Vetta (which isn’t the best idea but I did track a DI guitar too to re-amp later if needed). No EQ on the guitar tracks, but I did compress using http://www.mcdsp.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=133&Itemid=271 on the guitar channels.

I’m working up some songs with vocals, but they’re decidedly more rocky than this one. This one is more mellow than what I usually come up with, but it was the easiest to finish since there are no vocals. 🙂

    Thanks asat84!

I’m using the Preset that came with the set – “Black Beauty Big Room” – I think. I didn’t do any changes to the kit that I can remember, except maybe raise the overheads a smidge. I put “http://www.mcdsp.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=40&Itemid=271” from McDSP on the kit channel in Pro Tools. That fattens it up a little. Its just on a stereo instrument channel. I didn’t split the outputs of the kit to auxes.

I love S2! Man this changes everything for the guy at home!

    Thanks Waterboy!

Yeah iTunes – I figured why not eh? I used Tunecore and it only cost $10 to get it up there. What an age we live in.

I am have the same problem with the second disc file soundb6.obw. Did anyone find a fix?

My fix was to borrow a USB DVD Drive and install from there. I successfully installed the full 33G of MF. My internal DVD drive just couldn’t do it for whatever reason. I had the same experience with Komplete 5 & 6, which I’m about to try again with this external DVD drive.

I have to say the QC on installer disks lately is questionable. I have no issues reading or writing DVD’s any other time, but I’ve had major issues with the 3 most recent products (only 1 of which is Toontrack I should add – but maybe they’re using the same manufacturer?). Most installers I get these days are downloadable disk images. I realize that’s a lot to expect for something this size, and a lot of bandwidth for Toontrack to pay for. I’d still say as a user, it’d be a nice option, even for the very large size.

I say it now, because I deal with extremely large files routinely over the net. 30G I could have in my hands faster than having a friend bring a drive over, but that’s what I’ll have to do because I don’t have any other choice.

Try a different DVD drive.  I helped a friend with the same problem.  Turns out that his DVD drive wasn’t up to snuff.

I was leaning towards this as well. I can’t install Komplete 5 or 6 either. I can read & write DVD’s all day long but these installer disks are pi$$ing me off. I have to buy another piece of hardware to install things.

I’d much rather download something – even 30GB or so, than deal with having to buy another DVD drive.

I don’t suppose Toontrack will actually let me download this stuff in full?
