In the true spirit of asking more of a product that already does a lot, here goes….
I realize that EZplayer’s purpose is for much more than this, but the thing I use it for 98% of the time, is just in Toontrack solo, playing a kit so I can jam along on guitar or bass. I love it for this!
I just bought the Digidesign Instruments Expansion Pack yesterday, which includes “Strike”. While this will never replace EZdrummer or S2 for me in a composition, what I DO like about it, is the patterns, as well as Play Start/Stop, are all available on a MIDI keyboard. So unlike EZPlayer where I have to click around (I know – it’s really not a big deal, but I’m talking about speed & also fun) I can get Strike to play along really easily & fast. It’s also super quick to find a pattern I want to play along to. But Strike only works in Pro Tools and I don’t want to have to boot up Pro Tools every time I want to tinker around.
So I for one would love it if the patterns in EZPlayer were accessible from a MID keyboard. You could even take Strike’s lead & use D1 for Play Start/Stop, and then the patterns in whichever “bank” is selected, are laid out on the MIDI keyboard starting at E1. This would rock.
