A gentle reminder that this would still be good to do even as we come to four years since TT admitting this was something that definitely needs to be improved!

versuswhatExactly one year later… no change. 30 things to update – each instance requiring 7 mouse clicks. Really baffling.

Pretty shabby. I’ve given up on this and am not bothering with any more Toontrack purchases/updates. There’s other stuff out there that does an equally good/better job.

Each and every one needs to be
- downloaded
- wait for it to happen………..
- run install
- for the apps, allow a helper program to run
- read important information
- check agreement, agree
- set location if necessary
- hit install again
- Enter computer password
- wait for installation to finish………
- click close
- allow program access to detachable drive
- move software to trash?
- authorize
If there are any updates:
- download….
- install each update (midi, sound etc)
- tell where it should go
- enter password
- wait for it to happen
Et cetera.
This…is…madness.
Yes this is a real problem, and for the first time it’s actively stopping me from buying expansion packs such as the new one for EZD3. I, too, have plenty of Toontrack products across drums, bass and keys. The thought of repeating mindless tasks (checking agreements, install locations, entering system passwords) for each and every one should I move system or for simple product updates is quite off-putting. Do hope its fixed soon.
