Correct. There is no EZD Lite to EZD2 upgrade. There was an upgrade to EZD1 from the Lite version but was discontinued in 2014 upon the release of EZD2.

    No. It’s unique MIDI.

If the MIDI pack is the same as an EZXor SDX, it will say so on the product page. For example, on the Metal Machine MIDI pack page:

Please note that this is the same MIDI as included in the Metal Machine EZX.

No, there is no chord progression search function in EZkeys.

I would add the exact chord progression you want and use the Use Browser MIDI to add the style you like from the MIDI packs. See this video below. Much easier and better if you already have a chord progression you want to use.

Yes. But I mean as close to the original kit as recorded.

Still not sure what you mean.

Are you talking about kit sounds or MIDI grooves?

There is an Original Mix preset that is basically no effects and is original as you can get.

Sorry, by expansions, I mean midi packs.

Reply To: EZX’s compared to stock kits version: 2.2.1
    Operating system: Windows 10

Not sure what you mean “original kit” and then mean “MIDI packs”. MIDI can be played by any EZD or EZX kit.

    I will make a guess…

She purchased them using her email and they got auto registered to that account.

I found the original purchase transaction and moved them from her account to yours.

They should be in your account now.

    1. Yes. There are presets for guitars that aren’t amp sims. With eq, compression, reverb, et al already applied. Or there are eq that are general use (hi pass and low pass filters) that can be used on any instrument. Also, that snare preset may sound great on a guitar…who knows?
    2. Yes. Things that sound great by themselves may sound like poop when “mixed”. That is the essence of mixing in general. It’s like making a puzzle. All the pieces need to fit. The pieces may sound great by themselves…like the drums and bass…but when combined…it loses its goodness. There may be frequencies building up and masking each other so neither sounds good together…separately they kick ass…together…poop.

The thing is, EZmix won’t know what is working and what isn’t. Presets are limited in that way. You may get lucky and stumble across the right preset for the fix, but maybe not. That’s when I reach for a manual fix (eq, compressor, whatever) and dig in and fix. Presets may get you in that ballpark but manual adjustments will get you on the field.

There is no duplication between that EZX and that MIDI pack. If there are, it will be indicated on the product page.

    Example:

On the Indie Folk MIDI page is states:

(Please note that this is the same MIDI as included in the Indie Folk EZX.)

I just bought drum MIDI files.  I can’t use because I am not using EZDrummer.  Can I get a refund?  Very wrong you are selling MIDI packs that aren’t MIDI files!

You can contact Toontrack directly via the Contact Support button in the FAQ below and request a refund.

Wish I would have known before I bought! I thought they were just drum midi files. Toontrack should explain the products compatibility. I guess I’m out $24

It’s written on the product page what it works with.

You can try contacting Toontrack directly via the Contact Support button in the FAQ below and see if you can get a refund if you purchased from the Toontrack Webshop.

From the Blues MIDI pack product page:

Works with EZdrummer, EZdrummer 2, Superior Drummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3 (optimized for 1 kick, 1 snare, 2 toms, 1 floor tom, 2 crash cymbals, 1 ride cymbal).

The Toontrack MIDI needs a Toontrack sampler.
