PS. I do not work for Toontrack.
I do not speak for Toontrack or want to appear to represent Toontrack, their motives or their opinions.
I was merely repeating a response to a post that I had read to a similar question.

Sorry that you feel that way.
This question has been asked previously, and in a nutshell,
the response was that Toontrack takes its retail partnerships seriously.
They did not want to undercut or undermine their retail partners.

Owning SD3 does not diminish the value of an EZX expansion…
The value of an EZX expansion is inherent in its sample library
and the production values ascribed to it. Certainly not “useless“.

If you find them to be “so much money for nothing“, wait for a sale.
I have bought many EZX’s on sale for just a little more than the cost of a MIDI pack.

are you sure that what you’re hearing isn’t bleed of snare in other microphones?

I was able to buy the midi pack through finding it from the web page. It still added the metal ezx pack, but it also had the midi songwriter pack.
I was able to remove the metal pack, and buy it.
Then much to my horror when I went to register the serial number it said it was already installed? WTF?
I hadn’t bought a midi drum pack before only the ezx packs.
This is bad day for your 20th birthday.

I’m pretty sure that orders made through the Toontrack webstore are automatically registered to your account.

    Hi!
    My studio is expanding,
and I’m looking into installing Toontrack products on more computers that can operate at the same time.
    Thanks for your help!

    1) What is the best option here? I’d like to start with having Toontrack EZDrummer2 on two computers running at the same time (two people working potentially simultaneously). Can I buy a second EZDrummer2 license on my account? And then run the plugins from the same account at the same time? How about if I need a third workstation running EZDrummer2 at the same time? Etc..

Your EZD2 license provides simultaneous authorization & operation on 2 computers.

If I crossgrade to Superior Drummer 3… Do I still retain the EZDrummer2 license, and then could run EZD2 and SD3 from the same account on two computers at the same time?

Yes. Likewise, you’ll end up with two (2) licenses of each EZD2 & SD3 to use as you wish.

Do I have to start a fully new Toontrack account for the second computer?

    No.
