Yes sure, I am aware that a new library would be needed. Maybe a derivate of the new EZD2 library, or even better a new SD3 ;-).
It is difficult to get detailed information on the existing libraries – I recently bought the C&V SDX and then realized, that there is no positional sensing for snare! Very disappointed. Also mute tail articulations are missing, like in most SDX libraries. These small features make a difference to me, as I am an e-drummer.
So why not clean up SD and release new libraries loaded with all and new features to support the possibilities of v-drums midi? I know I am asking much, but this would be absolutely great and outstanding!
Regarding positional sensing on snare: I would like 3 zones at least, instead of center and edge only.

    Best regards,
    Peter

For just low latency you could try the internal iMac audio with AU Lab or MainStage 2 as host. On my C2D MacBook Pro I can get a 32 samples setting this way.
A very fast MIDI interface is the Terrasoniq Midi One cable (GM5 chip).
For quality and speed go for the RME Babyface.

Why doesn´t solo allow 32 samples settings? If it would I´d go back to solo, now I am using MainStage @ 32 samples with SD2…

Hm, maybe I have to go into this again. Different Libraries have different features – EZX in SD2 have different hi hats and snares, some SDXs have positional sensing on snare, some not. Some have tom rim sounds. Sometimes I use x-drums for one or two extra toms. I mix parts from different libraries using x-drums. I want to keep special velocity setting, envelopes and get rid of unused articulations. Using a preset for the whole kit messed things up. I ended up making midi presets for different part types, i.e. EZ snare, SD pos. snare, SD non pos. snare, etc. and applied them individually. Then assigning x-drum mics, eventually correcting note mapping or adding an envelope preset. Do you have a suggestion how this process can be simplyfied?
Just an idea: having a kind of predefined slots where you can drag the instruments into. These slots could have check boxes “EZ, pos., non pos.” when neccessary, or apply the “flavour” automatically…

    Hello Davoe,

you will get the full range HH with TD-8. You only need to map Open and Closed Bow, Open and Closed Edge + the Pedal. The range is controlled by CC4 messages.
What pedal are you using? I bought a 2nd hand FD-7 that gives me better range control than my previously used FD-8.
It works quite good, but I am still trying to optimize the response playing with velocity ctrl in s2.1…
Have you got s2 now? What is your experience?

    Regards,
    Peter
