I take it back. Thankyou Jose, i changed the Input filter and removed aftertouch, it didnt seem to work. However I restarted pro tools, opened the session again and tested. It still choked the cymbal sustain. However, i then quantized the track, and for whatever reason it seems that reset it somehow. Now the sustain is back and all is right in the world. Thankyou.
So i changed the Pro Tools input filter to record all except for mono and polyphonic aftertouch. However when re-recording the drums do the same thing.
Thanks for the vid, but right now i want to concentrate on preventing the cymbal samples from fading out, i just want them to sustain and cant figure out how i managed to change it.
Sorry not on facebook, got off that ride about 2 years ago, fully recommend it.
Thankyou so much for the detailed reply!
I dont use a keyboard I use a TD20. Im a proper drummer, not one of those keyboard pretenders
You may be on to something here tho as i do remember recently wondering why i couldnt choke the cymbals on my TD20 when playing SD3, I use pro tools HD and vaguely remember messing around with the MIDI input filter and changing it to record all?? which then gave me cymbal chokes back, which was what I read somewhere. So iâve just messed with the input filter but still having the choke.
Ive checked the recorded MIDI track but cant see any aftertouch data? But truthfully i dont really know how to find that. Iâve had a look at âvelocityâ âpitchbendâmod wheelâ breath controlâmono aftertouchâ data etc etc is that where it would be? But theres nothing obvious there that i can see. I also cant see any strange MIDI note like a keyswitch note anywhere in the MIDI track.
Also ive moved the cymbal note around and no matter which cymbal sample it triggers the end still chokes off early.
Its a shame about cymbal chokes if i have to edit them in post, but spose iâll gladly disable it if it gives me back the cymbal sustain.
updating the core library to 1.01 worked a treat. Thanks for your help, have an awesome day.
Thanks for the reply, yes superior 3 is selected but no presets there. i downloaded the files through the project manager on my mac which is connected to the internet, then used an external HDD to install on the windows machine so i havent installed any presets update etc so ill give it a look. Thanks.
forgot an important part there, that at the time both instances were on the same aux
haha hi john, yes it was a weird request. Well actually it wasnt a request, just an enquiry.
Last night i was working on a session that had two instances of superior drummer. A stick kit, and a mallet kit. Both kits during the chorus (at different points of the song) had the main groove drum track with an extra track playing fills over the main track (also run through a distortion, im sure you know the effect we were trying to create) but after multiple takes, as well as the fills on both kits, it would have been nice to bypass either the stick or mallet kit for focus without having to mute several midi tracks. It was kind of a unique situation, no drastic inconvenience of course, but when i found myself logging on to the TTforum to see if any knew kits are on the way, i just posted the question without much thought. I was just thinking at the time it was kind of odd that the superior plugin didnt support one of the main features of a plugin? but as i said, i didnt give it too much thought and your right that users wouldnt gain much of an advantage with support for bypass.
How about support for mapping superior plugin parameters to say a C24 or ICON in PT though?
Yeah its interesting, you can imagine a lot of traditionalists looking negatively upon EZMix, even in the video andy sneap mentions how he hates presets etc, they have a point, but youâve summed it up perfectly there

Actualy thinking about it its not lazzy at all just a good plugin doing a god job

A good plugin doing a good job. Who cares about software or hardware, about analogue and digital. It may be sexier to say âit was run through an old fairchildâ as apposed to âa software pluginâ and of course old outboard gear is WAY sexier than your plugin list in PT, but simply all that matters is, does it work well in the mix?

Ahh, my bad, it was a long post, i skimmed it pretty fast.
Id just like to add though, third parties should be glad toontrack offers them a chance to release on their engine, it is undoubtably the best engine going round, isolatedâŠ.at the top Third parties should be begging to join the revolution.
