Thanks for the feedback! I can relate to what you want to achieve here. I will bring this up for discussion, but there are many aspects to take into consideration here, one being the users who hasn’t paid for the software (as you wrote). We don’t, for example, want to use USB dongles (which can be a hassle to carry around). They often considered a “safer” system, but we chose not to use it, because we know that it makes the user experience worse for some users, so I guarantee that we try to make our systems as user friendly as possible.

Are there any settings in DP that instructs DP to change the time signature to the same as a dragged MIDI file? This is usually a settings in different DAWs. 3

Using this forum is usually a pretty quick place to get the answers you need. In certain cases you need to contact support, and if you want to, go to the Support menu (in the top of the Toontrack web page), and click Contact Support/FAQ.

In the meantime, can you explain where it goes wrong, what does the error messages looks like (if you get any)?

Are you using the Product Manager on the Mac, or on the PC?

You need to route the audio from the Ride into its own channel in SD3.

    • On the drums tab, right click on the ride and select More > Route Instrument Microphones.
    • Topmost, there’s a Close microphone, which usually is a overhead stereo mic.
    • Click the target microphone (on the right column) and select Create New Channel in the bottom of the list.

Now you should have a channel in the mixer called X-OH something (the X means that it’s a user added channel) .This channel receives the “dry” sound from the ride, which you can mix as you like.

In the Product Manager, you can set the download path. After download, you run the installers where you (if run for the first time) you can set the path to where the EZXs and EZKs should be placed.

If you already have installed EZXs and EZKs, you can move the folders to another drive. When you start EZdrummer 2 or EZkeys, they’ll ask where the libraries are moved, and you can select the new path.

The audio is converted to mono for the analysis algorithm to work correctly.

May I ask why you want it to be in stereo? The program is designed for dragging in audio, converting it to MIDI, drag the MIDI to the song track and then blend it with the original audio (which should be kept on a track in the DAW). If you want to use the audio file from the tracker in a mix scenario while it’s in SD3 it can be tricky, since the interface isn’t designed for this, and hence lacks some features needed for that scenario.

Download and Reinstall the latest Library Part 1 update, using Product Manager, to see if that solves your graphical issues:

The first would be the ability to modify and customize the graphical kit to match my kit setup

This has been requested before, and it’s an understandable request when you want the drums in SD3 to visually match the e-drums. It’s listed on our feature request list.

Alternatively, SD3 as a VST, maybe my DAW could do this already?

Yes, DAWs usually have this feature (t’s called VST Presets in Cubase for example). I think I checked this out in Live not to long ago, and found out Live has its own system, similar to VST Program. You save a preset for the current virtual instrument, and when you change the Live VST preset, the settings in VST are changed to whatever you saved in that preset.

    Thanks again!

When I do change the volume with the mouse, it moves rather quickly.

I want to make more gradual changes in volume (it tends to jump 1.5 dB at a time).

Would this be a windows mouse setting, or it there something in SD3 I can do to make the volume changes with a mouse more gradual?

Press shift key on keyboard while moving the mouse, and it will decrease the changed steps on mouse movements 🙂

Well, a part of EZXs is that they are somewhat pre-mixed, but I can understand what you want to achieve. This can be controlled with a gate in a DAW, or using the Envelope control in Superior Drummer 3.

    That seems easy enough.
Not sure how I missed that.

Well, it’s a powerful program, sometimes even I miss pretty straightforward things 😀
