Is it possible that you have recorded/placed the MIDI notes so that it plays too early? This can happen if you compensate for latency, that you had before.

In the Grid Editor, press the small arrow next to the instrument in the left list. This will reveal all articulations, and you can edit their MIDI notes.

It’s designed so that you can match a part using Tap2Find, then drag any of the results (or the tapped midi itself) to the Song Creator. There you can drag down individual song parts (results from the Song Creator), or load an entire song, based on a structure.

If you by “matching a complete simplified beat track” mean; “load an entire drum track and replace all midi with other, similar sounding MIDI”, then it’s not done because we don’t have unlimited time and resources to develop products 🙂 We have to make decisions on what to implement, and everything we decide to add means that something else won’t (because of time limits) be added. We have discussed similar ideas as yours, and it is on our feature request list!

I assume you mean the favorite marked files (the Star icon on the left side). There is no built in function to save those. However, you can try this workaround:

• Save the files MidiDB and MidiDB_fav (if it exists), before reinstalling/formatting the hard drive.
• When you have re-installed the computer, put those files back to the same location.
  • Path to files on Mac: /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/EZdrummer
  • Path to files on PC: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Toontrack\EZdrummer

I will write it up as a feature request to be able to export and import favorites.

Unfortunately, you can’t do that. You have to “Stop all Audio” from the Edit menu.

Go to the same Drums and Mixer preset you started with. Click the small button on the right side and select Load Parts

In there, only check “Mixer”, and un-check everything else. This will load the mixer as it was from the beginning in that preset.

Start by checking that you have the newest version of SD3 (v 3.1.2). It has some fixes on the MIDI mapping settings page.

• When you set up your e-drums in Settings, these settings are stored in the project you have loaded.
•  If you want to use this mapping every time you start a new session in SD3, save a Default Preset. The Default Preset is loaded each time you start a new instance of SD3, so you can set it up the way you want it (drum selections, mixer settings, etc) and save a Default Preset.
• The MIDI mapping done in Settings/ MIDI IN/E-drums shouldn’t change when you change Drums and Mixer Preset, the mapping should stay the same.

Maybe unrelated, but you need to record enable the track where EZdrummer 2 is placed to make Logic lower the latency.

Yes, it sounds like some kind of cross talk (when you hit one thing on the e-kit but something else registers a hit).
