The problem is that you are using a 32 bit version of Ableton. To be able to use all of your 8 GB of RAM you have to use a 64 bit host.

If it’s the PC version you downloaded – make sure that you extract the downloaded Zip file before trying to install it. In some cases, if you just double click it you will get a preview of what’s inside the zipped file, and if you try to install it from there you will get an error message.
Try to right click on the file and choose Extract, then go to the extracted installer and it should work.

You’ll find “Save Project…” under “Project” in the main menu, found at the top right corner of EZdrummer 2 ![]()

Can I use the keyboard on my laptop to “play” the drums on screen while recording?
This can be done if you use EZdrummer 2 in a host that has support for using the computer keyboard as a MIDI keyboard (I know that Logic has this feature, check the manual for your host software).
If you want to search for complex patterns you can either slow down the tempo in Tap2Find by turning down the Tempo knob (found on the bottom left side of the window in Tap2Find), or you can manually place all the MIDI notes in your host’s piano roll, then use that MIDI in Tap2Find (drag it to the area beneath the Tap2Find button).
Good luck and come back here if you can’t get my advices to work

Thanks for the reply, I will check out if this is a bug.
It’s unfortunate that some hosts don’t allow MIDI to be dragged out – we hope that they will fix this in future updates/releases.

I’m going to check it out! But in the meanwhile – try to start logics play back a bit before the first MIDI notes appear (e.g. don’t start to playback directly on the first MIDI note in Logic). Does this help?

Yes, EZdrummer (both 1 and 2) comes with a Audio Unit installer (which Logic is using).
What do you mean with “use the piano roll in logic to map out my drums”? You can insert MIDI notes manually in the piano roll and EZdrummer (1 and 2) will play them (if that’s what you mean) ![]()

If you have a sound card with a MIDI input that should be enough since e-drums comes with a MIDI output (double check to be sure though). If not, there’s probably an USB connection which (in practical) works in the same way as a MIDI cable – you install the drivers/software that comes with the e-kit and plug it in to your computer’s USB port.

That is correct – EZdrummer 2 can at the moment only use Toontrack MIDI for the search results in Tap2Find.
