Try to use the filters to refine your search.
In the type column, check the “beat” filter (which means that no fills will be amongst the results).
In the menu (top right corner of the search tab), click Visible Filter Columns/Resolution. Using those filters, you can specify 8ths or 16ths.

I tried to tap in the MIDI you have in your posted mp3 file and I get a lot of similar sounding results. Have you checked that you have the latest version of the software and the MIDI? (Using EZdrummer 2’s main menu in the top right corner, Check for Updates)

    1. You can find half and double tempo files by using the filters in the Type column. These will, however, sound like the tapped in MIDI since it will look for beats that sounds similar, even if they originally are halved or doubled their tempo.

    2. No, there is no half or double tempo transpose button in the browser. This has been requested though so we are aware of it being a wanted feature for future updates.

If you check My Account/My Products in the top right corner of this Toontrack site you’ll see all your registered software, including EZdrummer 1. Click on it and you’ll see a download button. Download and install on your new computer :)

Also – there’s a free downloadable demo of EZdrummer 2 that you can try for 10 days.

We are aware of this being a feature that users wants. but this is not possible yet, and have been discussed before. The reason is that it’s a complex implementation to let users add their own MIDI to the Search tab/Tap2Find.

Do you use a Mac or PC and what host are you using?

The implementation is that when the g is within the c’s and the e’s octave it will be seen as one chord – a C (an inversion). If the bass note G is moved down one octave, it will be treated as a C/G chord, since the G is more obviously a bass note that in a greater way colors the chord.

It’s this way because when changing chords on the track, we have separate controllers for the inversion and for the bass note.

You can export the MIDI file from Cubase and then import it to EZdrummer – from the EZdrummer 2’s track menu (placed top right of the MIDI track) or just drag and drop it from your folder into EZdrummer 2.

You can also record enable EZdrummer 2 and press play in your host, then EZdrummer 2 will record the MIDI played and become a MIDI block inside EZdrummer 2.

How do I do that,, and what would that cost ? Can I update from your homepage?

Updates within the programs are free. E.g. an update from 1.1 to 1.2 is free, but to upgrade to version 2 is not for free, since it’s a brand new software – not just an update.

No, you are not the first to write this and we agree that this is a helpful feature. We are looking into it! Can’t make any promises about if, when or how it will be used, but we are aware of the problem. Thanks for the feedback :)

If you want to do a ♭II6-V-I variation i C major: D♭-G-C (adding 3 chords to the song track, changing the first chord to a D♭, and the other one to a G). Is that what you are looking for?

If you have a MIDI file that plays side stick on your snare, you can raise the volume by:
    – The Properties (accessed by right clicking on the snare), raising the volume knob on the top right corner
    – The mixer, raising the snare channels
    – In the Edit Play Style by raising the velocity on the snare

All the above actions will increase the volume on the snare, including all its articulation. So center hits, side stick hits and all the others will be louder.

I took a MIDI file that played a standard 4/4 beat. I entered Edit Play Style and right clicked the snare and selected Articulation/Sidestick. This makes all the hits sidestick hits.
I maximized the velocity of the snare, maximized the instrument’s volume in the properties of the snare and maximized the snare in the mixer. This made the sidesticks really loud :)

You can see the version number in the bottom right corner of the interface. Check that it says 2.0.2

Can you start EZdrummer 2 in standalone version? Can you start EZdrummer if you run Cubase in 64 bit mode? Just trying to pinpoint what’s causing the crashes…

Can you try to reinstall Metalheads to see if that solves the problem?
