I’ve been wanting to ask the same question. I’m too am looking for a reasonable priced, low latency, perfectly supported audio interface with MIDI input for my Macbook. It would be great if the interface would have a few (2 – 4) individual outputs I could use to route individual S2.0 instruments to a PA system, but my main concern is low latency, MIDI input and great Apple support in terms of system drivers.

In order to give all this a try, without spending to much money on an external audio interface, I bought an http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=733&ParentId=114. Combined with the internal sound card of my MacBook and proper headphones this gives me a low budget but fairly decent S2.0 experience. If you want something with a little more quality you might consider the http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=704&ParentId=114 or http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=731&ParentId=114. But maybe more experienced users can give you some insight on which audio interface will give you a good experience (low latency, high quality output) for a fair price. I’d be interested in this as well.

I’m playing with a TD3/VH-11 combination and obviously this isn’t ‘fully compatible’. When using the TD3 sounds I’ve three options; open, half-open, closed. They’re clearly recognizable. Although I haven’t really payed attention to the HH details with S2.0 yet I can say I definitely hear more variations. I’m suspecting a TD6 should give you a similar result.
