The td50x does take advantage of the vh14 and the other digital pads. The rest of the pads are just note numbers. Nothing else. The digital pads on the td27 will send the same data as a td50x. What exactly do you want from the preset? Do you understand midi?

I’m not wasting any more time with the OP as it looks like any help we give him he really doesn’t want. It doesn’t fit with what he wants.

Look, some people can spend their time watching Star Trek and renaming presets on superior drummer. Others pay the money and hope the product will actually be superior and be updated for the latest and most popular modules.

Why don’t you take the time you use here writing your screeds and put it to work reworking the MIDI preset? That would be the logical thing to do and you’d have your working preset quicker than waiting months if not years for TT to fix it to your liking. If I have a problem with a program and can fix it myself that’s what I would do and have done with it.

But it already exists. You’re just not getting it. It’s there it works just not the name you want.
We’re fighting a losing battle with the OP. He wants someone else to do the simple work for him when he’s been given the way to go right here. As I wrote earlier he should just start a ticket with support if he doesn’t want to help himself. Toontrack has better things to do than fix something that’s not a deal breaker.

What labor? The td50x preset works. You are literally complaining about a name. You didn’t pay all that money for the name of one preset. You paid for the excellent sounds and features. I understand complaining if something doesn’t work but this is just petty.
Exactly. He just needs to edit the preset as needed and save it to a new name. Toontrack isn’t going to do an update for just one little thing. I’d suggest the OP start a support ticket with TT to let them know about it.

For a product I’ve invested over $1k in, toontrack should do the work for me and correct the preset
Rather than comnplain and wait for something that probably won’t happen just buckle down and fix the preset yourself if you have the chops to do it. That’s what I did with the General MIDI preset errors.

But there won’t be any difference. It’s only the digital pads that work differently and the td27 will output the same midi as the td50x. Just save as and change the name to td27 if it makes you happier.
Exactly. The ekit presets aren’t necessarily correct for every usage. The General MIDI preset has some errors especially as it doesn’t take into account 4 rack toms that the GM spec specifies. Modify and save and move on.

I don’t understand what you mean by being not compatible? If I understand correctly the presets in SD3’s ekit just for MIDI mapping?

By default single kit pieces have no fx in SD3. You only get the room mics if you use the mixer output that has them – they’re not a part of the direct mics.

The clap is NOT missing. Go to ‘add instrument’ and click on ‘search for instrument’. The ‘search for instrument’ window will open and in the left hand section click on ‘Superior Drummer 3 – Percussion’. Go to the third column from the left and click on percussion under ‘instrument type’. In the next column over called ‘instrument’ you’ll see claps and all sorts of percussion instruments listed. Click on ‘claps’ and you’ll see a section of the window that shows the various claps available.
It pays to read the manual you know.
What kit parts do you think are missing? Not all kits have all the different drum kit setups with the same kit pieces.

With 24 bit audio there’s no need to obsess about specific levels as long as you stay in the box. I’m not knocking gain staging but just keep your levels down so the overload indicator in your daw’s track level metering doesn’t stay constantly lit up.

Thanked by: Bear-Faced CowThere are no kits recorded expressly for live use. You’ll have to set your own channel setups in the SD3 mixer. For your second issue turn down or even off the bleed levels for the kit pieces you don’t want in the ambient and room channels.

The first thing I would do before spending any money is to defrag that hard drive. Are those samples on the system drive or a separate drive? Separate drive is always better. If you’re still having issues run some kind of testing s/w on the drive as it might be failing. How is the drive connected to the computer?

John already answered the kit piece issue. I can, however, answer the question about a search function. There is a ‘search’ field at the top of every page. Another way to search, and it often works better than a built-in search function is to use the Google site search operator as outlined here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/monitor-debug/search-operators/all-search-site
Works for just about any site on the web.

Thanked by: John HaderThere is no one best way. It depends on how you want to do it. For me in the SD3 mixer I have the overhead mics going to one output, the ambient mics to another output. I don’t use the surround mics. I handle SD3 the way I’d handle a real kit. The kick mics get grouped to one SD3 mixer output, snare mics to another, hihat to another, rack toms to another, floor toms to yet another and so on.

Unless I misread what the OP wrote he has 3.3.6 but wants 3.2.7. The Product manager doesn’t appear to let that happen.
