the sound update. it worked from the PC that installed the libraries from.

As it should. You can’t install an update for something that doesn’t exist on the computer.

I’d suggest reading the SD3 manual and your daw’s documentation on how to do what you want. The first thing is you need to set the SD3 mixer for multi-outs which is explained in the manual. To save you that bit go to the mixer tab in SD3 and click on the ‘mixer’ tab that’s just to the left of the ‘channel effects’ tab and select ‘apply multi-channel outputs’. The rest you’ll need to consult the docs for your daws.

How are you using SD3 in Logic as that’s a Mac-only program.

I’m confused by the wording of your issue. Are you trying to install Death & Darkness? That’s what your screenshot shows. Or are you trying to do the sound library update? If the latter that makes sense that you can’t do what you’re trying to do as there’s nothing to update on that computer.

SD3 will work with anything that sends midi. The sx pro should work. Have you tried any DAW software to record midi and see if you are actually receiving any from the pad? I can’t comment on pro tools as I don’t use it. The preset should be the same unless Roland have done a total remap of the note numbers on the pro. I doubt that very much though.

In addition to this get the free MIDI-OX utility and run it in standalone mode. It’s a utility that will show you what the SPD (or any MIDI device) is sending to your computer. This is the first thing I recommend to people with MIDI issues – see what the sender is actually sending and is it getting to the computer? The comparable utility for Mac users is snoize.

If the SPD is connected via USB make sure any power savings measures in Windows are turned off. By default the USB ports on a Winmachine are set to turn off after a certain amount of time. This will happen even on a desktop computer.

Actually the first thing I would try, if it hasn’t been done, is to try SD3 in standalone first.

    Mark King,

yes I do mean the gui. Is there a method for moving the ride cymbal to the left side of the kit to match how i actually play?

Carter Beuford plays a rigjt handed kit with the ride on his left side.

    anyone??

Can’t be done. You’re going to have to live with it where it is.

Are you trying to move it in the gui or in the audio or what? If the latter just change the panning.

After 3 days of sitting in front of my computer doing all the steps to download and install my 140 products, I wonder if it would be feasible to clone the SSD that these were installed on (nothing else on it at the moment) and if I need to repeat a complete reinstall just plug in the clone drive. Might still have to re-authorize but that would still be less time to do.  206 individual download/installs! I feel ya!

    Operating system: Windows 11

Don’t know about Windows machines but for Macs that’s possible especially if the stuff is not on the system drive. Get a good cloning program. I have clones of everything – system drive, samples drive and sessions drive. Good as a safety thing.

    Hi JC:

    1) No

    2) I think the Manual explains it best: https://www.toontrack.com/manual/superior-drummer-3/?type=manual_sd3&search=future+hit

    BR,
    John

Actually for the number 2 issue I’d do the MIDI mapping change from the MIDI in/Edrums page. That way the kit piece will still play at the same note it does in any MIDI pattern in SD3 or one’s daw. An even better way would be to change the mapping in one’s drum module.

I don’t think the OP wants to create a user preset as such. He’s looking for a way to have a selected xDrum stay selected no matter what preset he goes to. If so the answer to the question is that it can’t be done.

    Hi,

do you have  Carbon Copy cloner installed?  Are ‘Snapshots’ enabled for the drive? If so, these eat up usable space but are “invisible” to the system disk usage report.

If you have snapshots enabled, please go into CCC and remove at least some of them; as Brad mentioned, empty your Bin and then restart the Mac.

    BR,
    John

True that. Also old installers can lurk about a system. Could the MacOS swap disk be eating drive space? I would still like to see the partition map from disk utility. His installation path seems kind of strange as well.

You have a 4 TB system drive? Where specifically are you installing to – what folder? What does OSX disk utility show for things?

I wish TT would allow us to download direct from the website as well as via the PM.

Just wondering, what is to be gained by downloading from the website vs Product Manager?
D’you think maybe Product Manager or the OS is throttling the download?

PS.  Not recommended…but it is still available.

I’ve had issues with certain product/download managers not being able to do the downloads. UVI is one of those. I have to go direct to their site and download stuff on a regular basis.
