    ZeroEmpire,

Thank you for the review!  Now your tune: the guitar riffs are cool!  Do you use a Whammy pedal, or how did you do the lead guitar?  The lead guitar parts are impressive, and the drums are nice too.  What state or country are you from?

    xname,
I have no idea what offended you, and I had no intention of offending anyone.

    xname and rallyboy101,
xname has resurrected a thread from almost 4 years ago, and I’m not sure you guys listened to the correct song. Make sure the song title is actually “Found Today”. It’s possible that the direct link for “Found Today” only works in the older version of soundclick. If you listened to the most recent song I posted on soundclick (“Fortify Your Faith”), it has a bit of a gated reverb sound ala Phil Collins, but less so than “Found Today”. Either way, I appreciate that you listened to my music and replied. I have been using the cheapest version of Cubase (AI8 as of lately, and possibly LE4 on “Found Today”), so I’m not sure if I can do side-chaining compression. I have used u-he Presswerk compression the last few years (on top of Superior Drummer 2’s compression), and it seems doing side-chained compression is an elaborate process with Cubase and Presswerk, if I can even do it. Curious if you guys are from a particular state or country. I’m always wondering where people are from when they comment on my music.

    rallyboy101,
I have Cubase AI 8, which could be the cheapest version of 8; it came with my steinberg interface. I’ll have to check if it has a multi-band compressor. I just know my u-he Presswerk (non-multi-band) compressor works better than the regular compressor I had with Cubase LE4. I am on Mac OSX 10.9.5, which I don’t think works with anything Waves currently; though I have demoed some of their plug-ins in the past.

    rallyboy101,
Thank you for listening and commenting! I’ve only tried one multi-band compressor (maybe 2), and I have yet to have good luck with that. But that was years ago. Maybe I’ll have better luck with some more recent software? Have any recommendations for a good multi-band compressor plug-in? Since you liked the delay thing on the vocals, I will let you know that was a plug-in called Glitch Bitch (I didn’t name it).

Are you from a particular country or state? I’m always curious when people comment on my music. Leave me a link if you want me to check out any music you’ve done.

    John,
Thank you for answering my questions. Will this be a new policy of toontrack: all new EZX’s (from here on out) will need EZDrummer 2 or Superior Drummer 3? If so, toontrack will be losing some of my business, at least for a year or more, I think. Heck, gutarcenter.com still sells Superior Drummer 2.

    Matthew,
Thank you for listening & commenting! I can’t remember specifically experimenting with how fast the arpeggiated synth fades out at the point you mention, though I probably did. Assuming I did experiment with that, I probably just stuck with what sounded best to me. I mixed this on headphones, so that may be why the vocals sound a bit loud. I would probably drive my wife & daughter insane if I mixed on monitors, plus I like the sound of headphones anyway. I generally put u-he Presswerk compression on the entire drum track. I suppose I could experiment using Superior Drummer’s (#2) built in compressors for the snare. I will now look around to see if you posted any demos….though I did not find anything recent. Are you from a particular country? I’m always curious where people are from when they comment on my music. 🙂

Thank you for answering again. One other question: can SD3 access the MIDI drum patterns from SD2, EZDrummer1, and the EXZ’s?

    John,
Thank you for replying. I wasn’t sure if the Modern mp3 demos were completely or partially electronic drum sounds. I listened to some of them earlier……now I’ve heard them all. My iMac is several years old with OSX 10.9.5, and 4 GB memory. If I didn’t use the surround sound, would 4 GB work pretty well?

    Spikerama,
Thank you for listening and replying, I appreciate it! I reviewed your recent Beatles tune a few minutes ago.

    Spikerama,
Thanks for the review! Now your tune: This sounds like a country instrumental version of a Beatles song. Nice guitar playing and appropriate drums. Have a great day! 🙂
