Song with Reggae EZX drums, and an unrelated song with Radio BBC play

I put two songs in my music website: “Please Pretty Please” is the song on top (it has Reggae EZX drums operating within Superior Drummer), and “Black & White” (it was played on the Radio BBC by DJ Tom Robinson: whose song “2-4-6-8 Motorway” had lots of play on MTV and/or VH1 in the 80’s, and has collaborated with Elton John, Brian May of Queen, and Peter Gabriel) is the next song down (it unfortunately doesn’t have toontrack stuff on it).  Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved, and I promise to return the favor. I will start off by saying that I absolutely love “Pretty Pretty Please”. I think this might be one your best songs yet. I love the groove and how everything moves to the groove. I also like the fact that you didn’t drown your voice in echo, which helped to bring it out.

I can still tell that you are mixing on headphones, as everything still feels a little unbalanced and slightly disjointed in the mix. IMHO, I think your vocals are just a little too far forward from the song, as well as the lead synth (which I absolutely love – that to me was the perfect touch to that song). It is drowning out the music a bit. Perhaps some surgical EQ might be in order to put everything in its place, especially in such a good song in which you would want to hear everything in it. I love the guitars in it. They follow the groove. One thing that I might have done in the course would have been to change the guitar tone to some thing perhaps a little cleaner with a bit of dub style echo on it. However, that is just what I’m hearing so take it with a grain of salt.

Don’t let my comments deter you in anyway. The song is excellent! Good job!
