Use quite soft velocities (low numbers) even for a loud-ish song.
    Add reverb.

Great critique on the entire line up Jeremy.

OK….I admit you were very nice about C&V.

But overall I think you pretty much nailed all the strengths of the various Superior products (including Platinum – Evil Drums).
    Well, in my humble opinion.

    I don’t think it’s a bug.
    Help….someone?

I guess it’s about keeping the levels of the close mics high.
C&V is about drier, multi-miced drums, where ambience should be the icing on the cake, not the main meal.
Have you enabled all the bleeds?

    Yep.

Ambience (mono or comp) is optional.

    There are no rules.
    It’s up to you.
I guess I would say the library is aimed at people who need drier (less roomy) drums for something.
So you might explore all the close mic options before messing with ambience and comp-ambience.
Using a room ambience from one of the other Toontrack libraries is a great option though.

One big thing to explore is all the bleed options.
Enabling all bleeds and messing with them is one great way to achieve the true potential of the sounds in C&V.

I know it’s obvious, but have you gone through all the VST plug-in set up protocols in Ableton, as described on this web page:

How long has it been out? A couple of months?
Let’s look back on it after a year.
I’ve just started using it and right now it seems like a great stereo ‘do anything’ plug-in in Logic.
Need a quick perc loop, or a guide synth part, or a rex guitar part.
It’s so easy and delivers a lot of different sounds for the price.

    OK… more.

I’m triggering something I just sampled into Beatstation. I loaded it onto a pad and deleted all previous sounds.
In my midi I have one hit at full velocity (127) and a second hit very much lower (5). The sound of the sample changes slightly but there is no perceptible change in volume, certainly not with a difference of 122.
I have velocity ticked in pad properties.
Are the velocities supposed to work like a conventional plug-in?

    Next……
I can launch the Beatstation sampler in stand alone, but can’t find a way to do that in Logic, with Beatstation as a plug-in.
    Is that right?

    You got it.
    OK, I understand your answer.
    Thanks

    Ahh thanks.
I don’t seem to have a mouse that right clicks.
But option/command click seems to work.

Of the 4 slots for each pad…. is it possible to velocity switch between four chosen sounds?

A lot of people are using EZdrummer on the Mac with Pro Tools and similar.

    One thing you could consider.
You don’t need to follow the name on the pre-set.
Sometimes a guitar pre-set sounds great on drums, or a stereo master pre-set. Likewise a drum pre-set can work well on keyboards.
I know the tweakability is limited, but it’s still worth trying to ignore the designated function sometimes, just to see if anything good happens.

    Good stuff!
    Thanks for supporting the product.
I think you are doing the right thing, and helping to pay for future products that hopefully you’ll find useful and fun.

Can you see the serial number physically on a DVD or on the the product box or on your purchase receipt?

    That’s the first question.

As for your computer ID, it will automatically come up when you install EZdrummer and try to authorize it.

Before that, I would try and perform the installation stages in the exact order Scott suggests. He’s pretty good at helping people.
