No no, you’re still not understanding what I’m saying.

Can you fill me in on when the Classic 1.20 update came out? The DATE it came out.

If it was BEFORE 5-5-14, then you have a false link in your MIDI section that tells me there IS in fact a 5-5-14 update, LIKE THERE APPEARS TO BE ON EVERY OTHER MIDI PACK THAT HAS THAT 5-5-14 UPDATE.

The problem is, every other MIDI pack LETS ME DOWNLOAD THAT 5-5-14 UPDATE, AND IT IS A NEW FILE, IE AN UPDATE. With the Classic pack, it is NOT A NEW FILE. Meaning you have the WRONG FILE IN PLACE or you have a mistake listing a 5-5-14 update on a pack that doesn’t have one.

Considering ALL my other MIDI packs also had the 5-5-14 update when EZD2 came out, I’m inclined to think you have the wrong link listed in the update section.

Do I need to walk you thru how to navigate your own page and tell you how to see what I’m talking about?

Honestly, Tagging I’m not that concerned with it it works for the midi recognition, like the tap2find or song creator. You can always right click and ‘show in browser’ if you’re really concerned weather your fitting groove came from the ‘Swedish samba micro-beats in 13/9’ or the ‘radical rock and rowdy reggae rhythms’ folder. I pretty much dont care where the groove came from if it works.

I did the check for updates, and it only showed updates for EZD, and the Pop! kit.

But every other MIDI pack has another download that isnt the 1.2 file. ALL of my other MIDI packs do, I can even take a picture of my folder with all these in them to show you. Classic! says there’s an update, but it only gives me the original 1.2 file, which is the same file I get on the link below the activation key. It makes no sense that there would be 2 links, 2 inches apart that are the SAME file when every other MIDI pack is a different file there.

It TELLS me there is an update, but downloads the 1.2 file.

Again, this is just the MIDI pack, not the kit, but it has an update on 5-5-2014, but it just downloads the original 1.2 file.

All my other MIDI packs have the 1.2 and then another update to download.

You know, I would have sessions where the Edit Play Style wouldnt work properly, and I would have to restart, and it worked perfectly, no idea why.

Why not just use your DAWs PR?

Yeah, you COULD do this, but you shouldnt need too. We can algorithmically add in hits in a fashion that a real drummer could, but cant say to him, “Add a kick on the 3”? Thats seems just a little silly to me. :P

That is correct – EZdrummer 2 can at the moment only use Toontrack MIDI for the search results in Tap2Find.

Will this please be extended to other user midi? I have mostly all ToonTrack Midi, but a few others that I would really like to be included in similar grooves I’m searching for.

Oh wow, I didnt realize I could record drum hits right onto the track. I was using the record function solely for getting MIDI grooves from the DAW into EZD. Thanks!

I know this will be subjective, but I guess I’m looking for variety.

I already have Pop/Rock! EZX, Indie Folk EZX, Nashville EZX, Pop! EZX, as well as the NY Volume Studio 1,2, & 3 Midi packs, and the Session Drummer Midi pack, as well as some third party grooves.

I was going to get the Music City Midi pack, but now I’m thinking it might be too similar to the multitude of rockish grooves I have with all the above packs.

Can anyone recommend any other Midi packs they’ve been pleased with? I’m considering the BackBeats pack too, but I cant make up my mind!

I also enjoy Jazz, but dont know if I play enough to justify a whole pack when I already have a good few grooves. Not interested in any metal packs.

I guess I mostly play Indie/rock type stuff.

I was also considering one of the ‘songwriter’ packs, but again… cant decide.

Oh wow, I hadnt considered The Classic at all, but those sample grooves sound sexy as hell…. Hmm, I may end up grabbing that one. I was considering Backbeats for a little while, but I do like the sounds of that set. Thanks!

EDIT: Which pack is bigger, between the Classic and Songwriters 3 pack?

I agree, it’s limited on certain things like groove pattern. Sometimes adding in snares or whatever will only put them in the ‘preset’ spots, but you cant place them yourself, and it creates a cumbersome process of putting the groove in your DAW, changing it, then getting it back into EZD, which requires me to record, cause I cant drop it in

Also, maybe a way to place beats on a grid instead of just tapping for the tap2find

Maybe just more CTRL modifiers? Like if you hold alt and drag a groove into empty space, it should delete. Or maybe like a Shift-CTRL click for deleting in the timeline. Somethings got to be quicker than the right click menus

Haha yeah I tried that a bit, it just gets confusing auditioning hundreds of grooves. Maybe I’ll try it out again, I just wanted some input from people who may play in similar styles as me :D

Well, Pop/rock is now 1.5.1, but Cocktail is still 1.40
