Like I said, the presets require the S2 Avatar library to work. If a customer doesn’t have that library, the presets won’t work. Upset customers would be bad. It’s not just easy porting over from S2 to S3.

The EZD1 to EZD2 upgrade was discontinued easy back in December 2015. You would need to purchase the regular EZD2.

Since the release of S3, the Producer Preset packs have been discontinued. S3 uses different effects and the presets require the S2 default kit plus the SDX. Many users don’t own S2 so the presets wouldn’t work and it didn’t make sense to continue selling them.

I don’t know off hand which EZX have what adjustable parameters but I’ve found the Nashville EZX to hit hard for rock music.

I mix in my DAW and bus the toms to their own DAW mixer channels and use a transient designer plugin to adjust tom ring if needed. Also a parametric eq can hone in ringing and cut it also.

If you save the S2 project as a Combined Preset, it should appear in the S3 “S2 User Presets” menu for that particular  SDX

Once the MIDI packs are installed, they will appear in the browser after the database is updated which should happen automatically on the first startup after they are installed.

There are no redundancy with MIDI packs unless otherwise stated on the product page. For example, on the Americana MIDI pack page it states:

(Please note that this is the same MIDI as included in the Americana EZX.)

No, there is no position option nor a way to select a specific string in EZbass. There should be no sound difference between where the notes are played (fretted or open). Well, on a real bass there may be but not on the EZbass virtual instrument.

    Hello Scott,

Can you use it without those libs as well?

Nope. Only with those and the S2 default library (or NY Vol1).

Yes, those presets were designed to be used with those SDXs.

I guess there are a couple of options. Setup like the OP did and detune one of the kicks. Perhaps eq one slightly differently as well. So they sound different enough to sound like 2 kick drums.

The other option, especially if the blast beat genre is something that you do all the time,  is to use a library that has 2 kick drum kit setups. They are made for that purpose. The Metal Foundry SDX is one.  Death & Darkness SDX is another obvious choice.

I’m confused by what you are calling “ghost notes”. They are usually syncopated played snare hits played very lightly between the basic 2 and 4 beats. They are either in the MIDI performance or drawn in via the editor. They have nothing to do with a preset or a kit.

What you are describing sounds like it’s in the kit or samples and not a MIDI “hit”.

I’m unclear what you are referring to.  Is it possible for you to make an short mp3 of what you are talking about and zip it and attach it to a post?
