Not sure which version of EZDrummer (2 or 3) you are using,
and that I’m not currently in front of my studio computer,
I can’t remember whether or not EZDrummer2 had access to the MIDI WEB SHOP…EZD3 Grooves Tab manual
Previewing MIDI grooves in the WEB SHOP may have saved you some grief.

    SHOW WEB SHOP MIDI
Show Web Shop MIDI connects to toontrack.com and allows you to preview MIDI that you do not currently own from Toontrack’s varied selection of for-purchase MIDI packs. An internet connection is required to use this feature. Clicking this button will add a header in the file browser section of the Grooves page titled “Online Libraries.” Search filters that correspond to the online libraries will also be added to the filters section and will display a blue dot to the left of their name.

All webshop grooves will have a web icon to the left of their name in the results section.

It is important to mention that webshop MIDI files can not be dragged to the Song Track or out of EZdrummer 3. They are strictly for preview so that the user can make more informed purchasing decisions.

(PREFACE: I know what an Index is and how to use one.)
Curious how an INDEX is better than the TABLE OF CONTENTS
    and SEARCH offered currently?

    which packs & expansions specifically?
did you investigate updates for your registered products in the Toontrack Product Manager?

Seems odd that you couldn’t walk into Thomann’s, pay cash and buy MIDI 6-packs all day long at the counter.
(All that they’re going to sell you is Product Serial Numbers to register to your Toontrack account.)
The right counterperson might even register & download the products for you if getting online is also an issue for you.

    Hey Klaus,

Which options do you have in the “Printer”-list? In Microsoft Edge on Windows 11 i get (amongst other options) Save as PDF and Microsoft Print to PDF.

Likewise, using Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 Pro, I am offered to [Save as PDF] as a printer option
(with only Adobe Acrobat Reader installed).

Oddly, at the moment, i only found 6/4 grooves included in SuperiorDrummer expansions…

AFAIK Chrome offers “Save as PDF…” as an option from the PRINT dialog.

Left-Click the [Print or Save as PDF] link and change the printer option in the Print Dialog window that opens.

Not a perfect option but a portable one ’til the real thing arrives.

AFAIK the Toontrack sound libraries are proprietary
and only play using the Toontrack software.

what specific features or functionality do you find missing from the Grid Editors in
    SuperiorDrummer3 & EZDrummer3? (bullet points, please)

My studio computer is a MAC so please forgive my ignorance and clarify “multimedia shuttle functions“…
Are these functions/buttons or your keyboard? mouse? controller surface?
    Thanks.

The [PERFORMANCE] tab under SETTINGS contains some options to reduce hits on the CPU & RAM.

from section 6.2 of the EZDrummer3 manual:
    USING THE MIXER
Every Library Preset has its own set of effects and effect parameters. Examples of effects are delay, reverb, EQ, mic bleed, compression, and tape drive.

You can find out which channels are affected by a parameter by clicking the control.
Affected channels will be highlighted in the mixer.

In a Library Preset, effects are “hard-wired” to specific channels and you cannot remove or add effects,
but you can usually change to what degree an effect is used and also set other parameters.

‘Zooming’ into the Track exposes more grid subdivisions.
