what version number displays on your EZD2 interface?
are we talking about the plugin or standalone version?
Windows or Mac? what version of the OS?
Yes. I just opened SD3, SD2, EZD2, Beatstation & EZMix2 in Harrison Mixbus32C v5.
(as VSTs. did not try AU) all very loud and very clear.
In a typical installation, EZDrummer2 overwrites EZDrummer1.
The only times that this would not happen automatically are usually
when users inadvertently (and incorrectly) move the app or DLL file on a Windows implementation
in order for their DAW to ‘see’ the plugin.
(The advised procedure might be to point their DAW to the default installed location of the app.)
The product-specific description page for each MIDI pack clearly states whether the MIDI pack duplicates the MIDI grooves that are included in an EZX or SDX sample expansion.
Example: The Indiependent MIDI pack product description page (https://www.toontrack.com/product/indiependent-midi/) states “Please note that this is the same MIDI as included in the Indiependent SDX.“
I don’t know for sure. Haven’t tried that.
However, once installed, I would think that the sound libraries (only) should be platform agnostic.

I’ve been using Superior Drummer 2 for a couple of years, and I’ve been a happy customer so far.
I payed several hundred euros for your products, and now (or a few months ago) you’re actually telling me that the products you sold me, might be useless whenever I do what any sane human being would do; Update my OS in the future?
Not true.
There are countless professional studios, mix & mastering engineers that forgo any & all OS & hardware updates in order to continue running their older DAW software. …and have been doing so for many years.
Some are even using software published by manufacturers that are no longer in existence…

Thanked by: Gary StephensWhile installation of some of the parts may be dependent upon prior installation of others,
you DO NOT have to re-download previously downloaded parts
(even if you’ve deleted those downloads after installing them).
The Toontrack Product Manager allows the pausing & resuming of downloads.
The SD3 sound library is divided into 5 separate downloads
relative to the number of microphones and layers desired;
your drive-space permitting.
as well as beats …
Buying all midi packs is too expensive for me as well as buying all kits.
It would be cool if the tap2find also looks online and offers then the beat for a small fee (just like two notes remote with their cab sims)
i think i would buy more often stuff because when it is more expensive and contains a lot of stuff i don’t need i’m am very picky.
Tap2Find indeed does look online – if you enable ‘Show Web Shop MIDI‘.
EZD2 Operation Manual, pg 16:
Web Shop MIDI
EZdrummer 2 will also let you search and preview matches among the entire groove library
of packs commercially available from the Toontrack web shop. To do this, simply engage
the Show Web Shop MIDI button above the Tap2Find and filtering area.

Like most other companies & retailers who run promotions in this manner,

The installation files for your purchases are available for download via the “My Products” page upon logging into the Toontrack website or through the Toontrack Product Manager.
I’m confused. I only see the FX that I’ve purchased.
I don’t even know how to install FX that I haven’t purchased first. How did you acquire the installers?
You are correct. SD3 installs as a new product installation and does not overwrite SD2.
SD2 remains viable for people who were using SD2 within a DAW (Pro Tools, Logic, Mixbus, etc)
and who might want to open projects that still reference SD2 in their sessions without error(s).
I have got to start looking for updates to threads before I post responses….
