Yes, that is expected. The presets labeled “Toontrack Demo” are a small set of additional presets included from the full production audio demos on the product page.

They are simply a few extra presets added as a bonus, which is why they appear under the Demo name rather than as a full Toontrack preset collection.

This is also the first SDX release where we included a comprehensive set of presets from both the Producer and the Engineer, giving users the opportunity to experience both of their approaches to the mix.

In general terms, EZdrummer is best described as a slimmed-down version of the Superior Drummer, both in terms of the number of instruments, available articulations, microphones, and mixer channel options. EZD3 was produced to provide its unique type of mix-ready sound, while SD3, in addition to its large pool of presets, features raw and unprocessed drum tones, which you have a bigger opportunity to modify yourself.

Also, EZD3 has the Bandmate feature, which SD3 does not.

If you’d rather have a pre-mixed sound that’s ready to use right away, then EZdrummer 3 might be more for you, although if you’re getting into and learning more about mixing your own sound and want more options, you might find that Superior Drummer suits you well.

Toontrack is correct. The installed library is under 1gb.

We can see that you own SD3.

You can use the “Show Webshop MIDI” function in the Grooves tab of EZD3/SD3 to preview MIDI packs you currently do not own before you purchase a MIDI pack. You can use the filter options in the Grooves tab to filter grooves to your liking.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to reactivate an expired demo trial period.

The trials are activated differently from the full version of the Toontrack software, so once the trial expires after the 10-day trial period, there is no other way to test the trial again on the same computer with your initial toontrack.com account.

We recommend downloading and installing the main SD3 software to your internal drive.

If you have the SD3 Sound Library on an external drive, you can simply set the path to the sound library in SD3 Settings > Libraries/Paths.

You can read more here: https://www.toontrack.com/manual/superior-drummer-3/9/9-3-settings-2/9-3-5-libraries-settings-tab

It would be a very nice feature to have your excellent drummers to record series of single stroke, double stroke, and various paradiddle rolls, similar to the buzz rolls currently present in the software. I would be happy to purchase a midi pack of Basic Drum Rolls and Fills on snares and toms. Perhaps this features is available in SDX but EZD could sure use it.

This sounds like a cool idea! We will forward your message to our development team so that they know you asked for this.

In Cubase – open the Settings > MIDI > MIDI File > Import Options and enable “Ignore Master Track Events on Merge”.

Whether the tempo is imported or not is not determined by the plug-in. Typically, the tempo information is embedded in the MIDI file itself, and it is up to your DAW settings to decide whether to follow that tempo or ignore it.

There seems to be an issue with the MalwareBytes browser extension and the captcha.

Try and disable the Malwarebytes extension in your browser, this should solve the problem.

It isn’t there. I didn’t even get a confirmation email or anything. Absolute silence from Toontrack’s side.

The Support Team has now replied to your email regarding this.

Hi. I just got the exact same issue. I tried purchasing a midi pack with 2 different cards because I thought maybe the card was the issue but I kept getting the same error.
