I would suggest testing out the Metal Guitar Gods pack, it has some presets made by Misha which I would assume works great with 8-string since he plays 8-string. (im using those presets as a 7-string player and hold them as personal favourites still).

Did a quick demo using his presets some time ago if you want to hear it in action

Beatstation comes to mind, have you checked it out already? It does a lot of things you ask for 🙂

(You can find it on this website under Products -> Toontrack Software Tools)

Thats a lot like what im doing myself, im actually using both at all times however.

I use EZD2 mainly for finding grooves easily and build structures on the song track. Load an empty kit in EZD2 to save RAM (right click a drum, select “kits” and choose “empty kit”) and activate MIDI out from EZD2 (Menu -> settings -> MIDI Events) so you can route it to SD2 and then you have all the strengths of both programs 🙂

Hope that helps to further streamline your process! 🙂

It doesn’t matter what you are using to host SD, the latency is still based on your sound cards ability to process the data fast enough that the time between you hitting the drum and the sound exits your speakers is kept to a minimum.
There are a lot of USB audio interfaces out there ranging from cheap to expensive, i bought mine for like 50$ and it works just fine with latencies < 5ms, just visit your local music store and im sure they can help you get what you need 🙂

You probably want to upgrade to a ASIO compatible sound card, running built in audio device with ASIO4ALL is most likely what is causing the lag.
It could be something else of course but thats where i’d start troubleshooting.

If you dont have a DAW you can always use the built in Export to Wave in stand alone.

Click the menu button in the attached picture and select “Track” -> “Export Song as WAVE File…”. trackmenu.png

It has already been added as a setting, just make sure to get the latest update and then go to:

Menu -> Settings -> Sound Engine, from there you have a few options for controlling the humanization 🙂

It seems to be driver related unfortunately, focusrite has the same issue on some audio interfaces.

I found this thread on the topic, maybe there are solutions out there if you continue searching the line6 forum.

Hey guys, could you please check a file from the installation to see if that has been updated properly?

For windows users this file is located in
    C:/ProgramData/Toontrack/EZdrummer/Database/02_@EZDRUMMER_2_MODERN#VINTAGE/midiDB

For MAC users it is located in
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/EZDrummer/Database/02_@EZDRUMMER_2_MODERN#VINTAGE/midiDB

If you check properties of this file it should have a size of 485,376 bytes.

If this is not the case you could try renaming the subfolder “Database” to something else, for example “Database2” and then run the updater again.

Let me know how it works!
