Actually there may well be some patches to the EZXs in addition to the updates that bring in the new EZ2 features. So the dickin around aint over, I’m afraid.

The EZ2 installer will also install the content necessary for the EZX updates.

Existing EZXs will be updated, probably during EZ2 install, to become EZX1/2s. I.e. they will work both in EZ1 and EZ2. EZ1 cannot use a pure EZX2. EZ2 can actually use both, so an update is not necessary just beneficial.

>…swap kit parts for ones from your other EZXs … >…A tricky scenario – how will EZ2 manage this? That’s pretty much the reason why we never bothered to do this in EZ1. Or rather, we didn’t even think of it as an option. So, considering that it is impossible, I would say that it works pretty well in EZ2. You cannot expect a ‘brought in’ drum to offer the same functionality as one of the native ones but there are still plenty of situations were the result is going to be just what you were after. You can also use this feature to move toms and crashes between different positions within an EZX.

I would have guessed at the E-drum brain but I guess that is possible too. Maybe it has some internal buffer that due to some malfunction it suddenly imagines to be full of MIDI that needs to be sent off. See if you can figure out which one is the culprit. Perhaps you have a MIDI keyboard you can plug into your interface instead of your e-drums.

Mmmm, yes, that MIDI definitely look odd. It’s ok until about 12 bars in. Then there is suddenly a torrent of notes. Technically the MIDI looks fairly typical to me, just played at an impossible speed, so it is not the result of some MIDI cable electrical contact glitching or so. Something sends that MIDI.

Yes, for each MIDI track in Cubase you can specify which MIDI source and MIDI channel to use.

No that is not possible. This is where you need a host of some sort. Such a host may not need to be very expensive. There may even be free ones that work well for you, since you are not interested in a sequenser.

Yes, the product description makes perfect sense once you know what it means 😉

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanNo, ROCK! is not a ‘best of’ compilation of released sounds. In fact it contains almost no samples of any single drum. Instead each drum sound is created by stacking sounds from several drums and applying suitable effects. Now, once you know this, go back and read the product description and I am sure it will make more sense.
