I open both plugin windows all the time. (Cubase Pro). I do believe that you can have multiple Plugins open Cakewalk too.
Hopefully this will help: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Solved-Multiple-Plugins-open-at-the-same-time-m3202362.aspx

When using SD3 in a DAW it is not a MIDI device (at least it isn’t in Cubase) it is a Virtual Instrument plugin that needs to have a track assigned to it. (or needs to be assigned to track, depending on how you look at it) In Cubase that track is called an instrument track but it may be different in Reaper. If you have any other virtual instruments that you use, guitars, orchestral, whatever, you need to treat SD3 like you would those.
Hope this helps!

Thanked by: John and Scott EshlemanCheck your filters. You may have some that are hiding 4/4 grooves from your list.

I’m not at my music computer but did you try adding 6/8 to the filters?

If you go to the link link below you will find a page with all of the Drum MIDI Grooves you can purchase from Toontrack. Clicking on any of the icons will take you to a page for that product that, among other things, will give you the time signatures that are included in that groove package.

I also write in many different time signatures and oddgrooves is another company that provides grooves in many different time sigs.

I run SD3 in my 24 bit 48K -projects all the time and have no issues. So I don’t think it’s SD3. But my hardware interface just uses the sample rate it receives from my DAW (up to 24/192). There is no hardware setting for the sample rate and bit depth. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hardware interface that has this. The only thing I can set is the buffer size.

I have read much of this post but not all of it. So forgive me if I missed something.
Your last post about switching to 441k made me think of something: EZX samples are 16 bit 441K. So if you’re using an EZX for the drum samples I think that even in SD3 they are going to play at 16/441.
Somebody may correct me on this.

Ha! Out the the 10 SDX’s I have purchased over the last several years, those are the two I use most of the time. (along with the Orchestral SDX)
They just totally stand out for their good mixes and versatility.
Have fun!

I have to say that out of the 10 SDX’s I own that Fields Of Rock is in my top 2 favorites. (the other being Death and Darkness)
No matter how you get it, it’s well worth it, IMHO.

Thanked by: Marcin and sumskilzThis is a known bug in SD3 3.3.2 and Toontrack is aware of it. What new bugs they will introduce when/if they fix this bug is anybody’s guess.
