Hi,
I would suspect that this is a Cubase Preference. The EZdrummer 3 plug-in cannot start playing by itself, so Cubase obviously sends a timeline position.
Or do I misunderstand? Is EZdrummer 3 playing early out of time? If so, please check for any latency inducing plug-ins the audio path that may cause problems with Delay compensation.
A workaround could be to copy the MIDI from the EZD3 Song Track to the Cubase Instrument Track and disable ‘Follow Host’ while recording other instruments.

OK,
you can try out the Logic Project attached to this post as an example. Un-Zip and open in Logic.EZD2_MultiOut.logicx

Thanked by: purcellsteveHi,
I think you need to elaborate a bit but perhaps you have hit Alt/Option at the same time as you hit Spacebar? This Pauses at the current Playhead position and if you hit Spacebar again this will be the new start point. Alt/Option + Enter will return to start. Cmd + left arrow/right arrow moves the Playhead one bar left or right.

Hi marcosvizcainogerlach,
I wouldn’t say EZkeys2 doesn’t work properly, it is a very odd behaviour from a DAW not to include Controller Data when importing MIDI.
It is still a two times drag-and-drop for MIDI with Sustain from EZkeys2, I’m afraid.

Hi again,
I talked with HQ and though EZkeys2 has got some light support for it, it isn’t generally supported now. The intention is to have some screen reader support across the plug-in line, though. I have no ETA at the moment, I’m afraid.

Hi,
what the opening screen is telling you is that the plug-in version has a lower version number than the installed resources.
The explanation for this message tends to be that the user has moved or copied the VST .dll file post first install but since EZdrummer 3 is VST3 only, I doubt that you have moved/copied it, or? Does the Standalone application give you the same error message?

John

Hi,
could you please save the SD3 Project, zip archive it and attach to a post here?
I haven’t seen that behaviour myself.

Hi,
first of all, I think you are mixing up audio and MIDI files here.
Does EZdrummer 2 have Multichannel output? Yes, both to hardware and DAWs like Logic.
If you need to output to separate hardware outputs, enable the multi-out in Settings > Audio/MIDI Setup > Out channels.
If you are using the plug-in in a DAW e.g. Logic, just add more outputs for your Instrument Track and set the outputs for each fader in the EZD2 mixer accordingly.
If you want to export MIDI and/or Audio files from your standalone EZdrummer 2, both are exported as single files, i.e. not an export split up per note/instrument/microphone.
If you are using Logic, I would simply open the Project you have created in the standalone in a plug-in and then, if needed, drag the MIDI to Logic from the Song Track and split it there. Also, I would make sure I had the Multi-out plug-in version of EZD2 added in Logic, so I could add more outputs from the plug-in if needed.

Thanked by: purcellsteveHi,
when you have a groove block on the Song Track and the Pointer Tool selected, it changes to a two-way arrow when you get close to a block boundary and can drag the start or end boundary. Depending on your Zoom level, it will snap to the closest Bar, Beat, etc.
To Cut, switch to the Scissor Tool by clicking it to the left of the Song Track or press the ‘2’ key. Your cuts will snap to the closest Bar, Beat, etc. depending on Zoom level.

Why would the stock library have presets in it that have inconsistent mapping?
Hi,
could you please give an example?
Your subject line mentions added instruments, which would not be the same as stock presets.

Hi,
which OS are you on? As far as I know, the built-in screen reader in macOS should work fine.

Hi,
did you download and install this through the Product Manager application?
Did you add it to the Database? Does it work as expected now? If not, I would recommend going into Settings > Advanced and ‘Restore MIDI Database.

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman1) Please confirm my understanding of your response: Your recommendation is to repeat the same process and hope for a better result.
No hope involved but you seemed to want all components of the software installed, since you wrote it was partially installed, so re-running the installer and making sure all components are checked in the Customise page would get you there.
2) what about the message in the product manager that said the core libraries were “Access Denied” – this occurred at the end of the core library download process before I moved anything.
This puzzles me a bit, did you download and then directly move the files? Did you not run the Core Library Installer? The ‘Access Denied’ is also strange, could you please change your ‘Downloads’ location in the Product Manager Preferences to e.g. your Desktop and re-download the Core Library Installer, then run the Installer?
3) also, it is not clear in your response if your installer allows the destination of the entire installation to be directed to the drive I select or if I still have to move some of the files manually. Can you please clarify.
The Software will always be installed to your system drive but the Sound library and MIDI repository can be installed (or moved) to an external location.
4) Can you provide documentation on the required directory structure and the way to inform your programs where the files are located?
When moving the ‘EZdrummer’ folder, you need to have its structure and content intact when pointing the software to it. It does not matter if it’s placed in the root of your drive or in a subfolder. If the ‘EZdrummer’ folder’s subfolders and content is compromised, my recommendation is to un-install/delete it and re-install the Core Library.

John

Hi,
would it be possible for you to screen capture what you are describing? I’m afraid I do not understand exactly what you are doing and what is happening.
