    Hi,

if you want to load a snare from a preset into a kit from the same library, it’s no problem. You just select the Instrument in question in the interface, then click the small down arrow to the right of the preset name and ‘Select Parts…’. You can also press down Alt/Option when you click a preset name to bring up the ‘Select Parts…’ window.

In that window you can select to import Drums, Mixer and Macro controls from that preset. All Instruments or just the selected one(s).

If the Instrument you wish to import is from another library, then it isn’t possible to import the same way. Different libraries not only have different amount of Instruments but have different mic setups, different rooms and are engineered differently so you wouldn’t get exactly the same sound no matter what, depending on the mics, bleed, room and processing.

What you can try, apart from saving an Instrument as a User Instrument, is to check the Mixer what makes up the sound and save each Mixer channel as a User preset in the Channel Effects menu in the top left of the Mixer.

    Hi,

I am not familiar with Cakewalk (BandLab?) these days, I think I had Sonar version 6 installed long ago. Isn’t there an Event Editor that you can insert PC to?

Using MIDI CC#0 will select different libraries, yes. If you have 3 libraries installed, they will respond to MIDI CC#0 ‘0’,’1′ and ‘2’ values. With 3 libraries installed any value from 3 and upwards will not change anything.

If there aren’t any other Cakewalk users here that can chime in, I’m afraid your best bet is on the Cakewalk forum.

    Hi,

I am not sure I understand – is it a problem that two different Kick Drums do not sound exactly the same? If they did sound exactly the same, there would be less point in having two and you could just have all hits go to one. Even with a double beater pedal, the sound of the two hits should vary so slightly. Also, you are listening to the sounds raw; give them some processing and set in a context, the difference will be less. If it is a problem, that is. Maybe I just don’t understand you correctly?

    Hi,

if you have toggled on ‘Allow MIDI Program Change’ in the EZkeys 2 plug-in, you have done what is needed in EZkeys 2.
The next thing you need to do is to send a ‘Program Change’ message from your host to the plug-in. How exactly this is done depends on host.
CC#0 BankMSB switches library, Program Change switches presets.

    Hi,

to switch Presets within a library, just use ‘Program Change’.

Next thing to check would be using a different MIDI controller with the same MIDI interface but that would not solve anything connected with lost settings.
Do you have a screen shot of your Audio/MIDI setup in EZdrummner 3 or EZbass?

    Hi,

if I understand you correctly, you should be able to save each custom pad as a User Instrument, which can then either be added as new instruments in another kit or replacing others.

    Hi,

first things to check are cables and if there are updated drivers for your interface.

    Hi MattyWof,

this was posted by a user on 2.1.4 and many updates and five years later (the last update was posted 2022), I would assume it isn’t a problem any longer. I also assume we would have seen a lot more posts about it. Why do you ask?

    Hi,

apologies for the delay but I initially missed your reply, I must have missed the notify box.

I am not sure why you have all those channels Solo’ed in the SD3 mixer and a bunch of unused X-channels hidden in your mixer?
If I’m not mistaken, the stacked snare is not routed to any microphone channel?
Anyways, I digress, the problem lies with the Delay Compensation in Pro Tools and how you have routed the signals. As it is now, the ‘oh shells’ audio arrives earlier than the rest of the kit.
Just select the ‘oh shells’ channel in the PT mixer, right-click the ‘cmp’ text below the fader and click ‘Auto Low Latency Off’.
If you don’t see it, Enable Delay Compensation in the Mix Window View Selector. This should solve the problem monitoring while building the song.

    I hope this helps,
    John

Also worth noting is that your MIDI is tied to your EZD folders. So wherever you place your EZDrummer libraries, your MIDI will follow.

This is important to understand. You cannot have the SDX MIDI in one location and your EZX:s MIDI somehwhere else.
EZX:s and Toontrack MIDI must be in the same location, whether on an internal or external drive .

@Brad: He’s on EZdrummer 2 (but good suggestions)

@ jami: Brad’s suggestions are good, try this and it would be great to have a look at the preset file(s), if you would zip and attach to a post here. If you Cmd+I on one of the presets, is it still a ‘Document’ without any file extension? Is your install on the new Mac the same in terms of expansions, etc.?

Apart from that, I can run EZdrummer 2 on Ventura here, recalling User Presets.

Hi, is his with a fresh download of the Product Manager installer? And this is happening when you run the installer or after installation and you try to launch it?

Any particular reason you’re still on Catalina?

    Hi Acinonyx,

if you go to Settings > Libraries/Paths, what does the Sound and MIDI Libraries path look like?

If it is the Default path, it should look like ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZdrummer’.  Inside that ‘EZdrummer’ folder there is a ‘Midi’ folder, Could you please post a screen shot of its content?

    John
