i think the issue may be something that changed in the new version? in the help file, it shows the switch as “program change”, in the newest version, it shows “change bank” which is a higher level like the piano itself versus a program change which would be the sound of the piano…

No, it can definitely be done, just not in Cakewalk (or so it seems). I have no problems whatsoever changing both libraries and presets in e.g. Logic via Program Change and MIDI CC messages.

    Hi,

I do not see the path behind that error dialogue window but I am pretty certain it’s wrong.

EZdrummer EZX:s and Toontrack MIDI must reside in a special repository. By Default this is in ‘C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZdrummer’.
You cannot move installed EZX:s around in the same way as an SDX Library, since the structure and content of the ‘EZdrummer’ folder must be intact.
The entire ‘EZdrummer’ folder can be moved and relinked but your installed EZX:s, with sounds and MIDI, must reside inside it as installed to be picked up by your system.

    Hi,

do you have  Carbon Copy cloner installed?  Are ‘Snapshots’ enabled for the drive? If so, these eat up usable space but are “invisible” to the system disk usage report.

If you have snapshots enabled, please go into CCC and remove at least some of them; as Brad mentioned, empty your Bin and then restart the Mac.

    Hi yabpapaye,

sorry but French is not my strong side and we try to keep it to English here on the Forum, so that more people can help and be helped by the possible solutions for problems that may arise.

I take it you have problems importing WAV files to Bandmate in EZdrummer 3?

Is this in the standalone or in a DAW? If DAW, which one and which version? Which OS are you on?

What have you tried so far in terms of workflow?

    Hi,

go to the Projects Settings > General and un-check ‘Only load plug-ins needed for project playback’. Or you can put some MIDI on the Instrument track.

    Hi,

it most likely can’t be that because I have it Enabled and it still works for me.

These are my (probably) relevant Preference pages:
    Reaper_Prefs_1
    Reaper_Prefs_2
    Reaper_Prefs_3
    Reaper_Prefs_4

    Hi,

    short answer is: no.
EZbass is not a live input transformer/triggering instrument like Superior Drummer 3 or EZdrummer 3.
If you are playing bass and want to have a software that affects the tone/sound of your playing in real-time, EZmix2 with a Bass Preset would be appropriate.

If you want a software that transforms your bass playing to MIDI, so you may work on the timing and switch between different bass instrument and presets, EZbass can be right for you but this is not done in real-time.

FWIW, I can run Reaper 7.05 here without having the EZdrummer 3 window open, both during regular play and Bounce, so it must be some local setting.
ATM, I have no suggestions regarding Reaper Preferences, I didn’t find anything that should affect your setup this way. Please report back if you find anything out on the Cockos Forum.

I use acid Pro. Superior drummer 3 works fine as a standalone and is recognized by acid and comes up within the program. However I do get the audio engine inactive message within acid. And you cannot use it. My audio device works fine with every other program on the computer and as I said Superior drummer 3 works as a standalone as well.

    Operating system: Windows 11

    Hi,

not familiar with the program the last 20 years or so but which driver type are you using in ACID?

Have you un-checked the ‘Close Audio and MIDI Ports…’ in the General Preferences?

    Hi,

with libraries, I was referring to the different EZK:s, like ‘Soul Roads One’, ‘Dark Industrial’, ‘Cinematic Grand’, etc. These would be changed by the Bank Select (CC#0) message followed by a value corresponding to the library number in your list.

EZK Presets would be changed with Patch select in your case (Program Change).

    Hi,

if you want to load a snare from a preset into a kit from the same library, it’s no problem. You just select the Instrument in question in the interface, then click the small down arrow to the right of the preset name and ‘Select Parts…’. You can also press down Alt/Option when you click a preset name to bring up the ‘Select Parts…’ window.

In that window you can select to import Drums, Mixer and Macro controls from that preset. All Instruments or just the selected one(s).

If the Instrument you wish to import is from another library, then it isn’t possible to import the same way. Different libraries not only have different amount of Instruments but have different mic setups, different rooms and are engineered differently so you wouldn’t get exactly the same sound no matter what, depending on the mics, bleed, room and processing.

What you can try, apart from saving an Instrument as a User Instrument, is to check the Mixer what makes up the sound and save each Mixer channel as a User preset in the Channel Effects menu in the top left of the Mixer.

    Hi,

I am not familiar with Cakewalk (BandLab?) these days, I think I had Sonar version 6 installed long ago. Isn’t there an Event Editor that you can insert PC to?

Using MIDI CC#0 will select different libraries, yes. If you have 3 libraries installed, they will respond to MIDI CC#0 ‘0’,’1′ and ‘2’ values. With 3 libraries installed any value from 3 and upwards will not change anything.

If there aren’t any other Cakewalk users here that can chime in, I’m afraid your best bet is on the Cakewalk forum.

    BR,
    John
