Hi,
the not MIDI-Mapped articulations are meant to be used with the Tambourine’s Future Hit Stack and/or Grid Editor.
If you select one of the ‘Future hit Tambourines’ Grooves in the Grooves Browser, play it and check the Tambourine’s articulations drop-down list, you will see that it’s the Stack that is being triggered by the Groove and it is in return firing the non MIDI-Mapped articulations.
Drag the Groove down to the Song Track and open it in the Grid Editor to see how the programming is for those hits. Future Hit instruments and articulations are not meant to be used for live-triggering, since they make use of, well.. future hits.

to add to what the others posted, don’t confuse the CC range needed for the openness of the HH with the Velocity range.
If you can’t change the CC resolution to HIGH=0-127 in the module like I can in my TD-12, then the module itself has the range between 0-90 in the CC output and you either adjust the response curve for when each level of openness happens or you Calibrate the HH as you did for the max closed and max open positions, which should then translate the incoming CC to spread over the response curve.
When you are happy with the result, Save your preset.

the easiest way to get things to match is to export a MIDI file from the DAW Project (it doesn’t matter what’s in it) and then Import both Tempo and Time Signature from this MIDI file to the EZD3 Song Track. Right before you have decided to print your EZD3 Song Track to Audio Files, Disable ‘Follow Host’ and go to ‘Export Song As Audio Files’.
If ‘Follow Host’ is Enabled while internally rendering the Audio Files, the plug-in will read the tempo at the current DAW locator only.

I can’t give you any insight on if/when a new preset would be added. I guess it partly would depend on how much such a preset would differ from the 50X preset. I would suggest you try it first, it might just work great; things usually don’t differ much between Roland modules when it comes to what matters for a preset. In some iterations, there has been differences between CC output resolution and stuff like that but the MIDI mapping is generally the same.
As I understand it, it’s mostly the internal sounds that differ between TD-50X and V71, right?
Anyways, you can’t break anything by loading the TD-50X preset. The MIDI In/E-Drum presets are just a “transformation filter” handling the incoming MIDI from the module to match what is set up in the SD3 plug-in.

Hi,
put the MIDI on the Instrument Track in Studio One, click the Rec button in the EZbass plugin then Play the Studio One Timeline to record into EZbass.
If you have the MIDI as a separate MIDI file, you can Import it to the EZbass Song Track.

If you have the MIDI on the Instrument Track in Studio One, you can record it to the EZbass Song Track. Once there, there are tools on the Song Track like Transitions, Transposing, Chords, Edit Play Style; and in the Grid Editor you have Timing and Dynamics apart from accessing the individual notes and articulations to transform the MIDI.

Hi,
you can always save a Project file instead of a kit/mixer preset. They can be stored wherever you like them to be and they save/recall the entire state of the plug-in.

this would absolutely work but bear in mind that if the programming is super-quantised and with no dynamics, just feeding EZbass with that MIDI will not automagically turn it into a dynamic, live-feeling performance. That said, EZbass has the tools to help you easily transform the MIDI into a better performance once you have it on the EZbass Song Track.

John: while I have your eyeballs I’ve been happening logging in here. I click on the link in the email notification I get about a reply here and I login. I click that and get sent to another page where I have to login again. And after that it doesn’t take me to the forum thread but the TT main page. I have to go to the email and reclick on the link to view the message. Been happening since like Saturday. FWIW I run Firefox (latest version) on a Mac.

Have you tried the TD-17 MIDI Preset without changing anything?
Because what I was trying to say is that your module does not send 0-127, it sends 0-90. I can’t see any CC above 86-something.
In the TD-17 SD3 Factory MIDI Preset, ‘Tight’ is triggered at 89 but in your video ‘Closed’ and ‘Tight’ are altered; ‘Tight is clearly set to 124, which will not be triggered.
Either that or Calibrate ‘Fully Opened’ and ‘Closed Tight’, since the Min/Max range is set to 0 – 127. If you click the ‘Calibrate’ button Close fully, Open fully, Close fully then ‘Save’? If I do that with a limited range, the Open to Close stages are correctly translated when the Openness stages are set more like in the Default Preset.

…I actually think you can’t set the resolution in the TD-17, since the Factory TD-17 Preset in SD3 has ‘Tight’ happening at 89.

you didn’t answer Jack’s and Mark’s question about what you are using to trigger SD3?
I can see that you are using a modified Roland TD-17 MIDI Preset in the video, which I then assume means you have a TD-17?
I also see that the CC range received by SD3 is limited. In my TD-12 module, there is a setting I need to have on, for full HH open/close response: RESOLUTION:HIGH.
If I don’t have it set to HIGH, the range is limited to between 0-90.

Hi Cesar,
if you select the Snare on the Drums page, then click the Articulation drop-down (right under the library expansion name in the top of the interface) and select the ‘Sidestick’ articulation instead of ‘All’, you can raise the level +12dB for this articulation only via the level property box. Is the +12dB not enough?
