Hm, I think we need you to record arm both Cubase and EZbass while playing something where these issues occur.
This will record the MIDI both into EZbass and Cubase, and then you can post the Cubase MIDI, and the EZbass MIDI here.
We will analyse the two MIDI files and see why they might differ.
Sorry for the inconvenience here, but we need the data to find the issue 🙂

Sorry for all the inconveniences! We will add a fix in 1.0.4 that (hopefully!) will take care of these issues. It will be released ASAP.

I wonder why you didn’t call it > Superior Bass Player?
The name EZ doesn’t mean it sounds bad, it means it’s designed to be easy to use – so you can focus on writing music instead of spending hours in the interface changing things that in the long run doesn’t really matter 🙂

I’m getting an error in EZ Bass Follow Host Disabled “similar MIDI from Logic Pro X and song track was detected” It wont follow Logic Pro timeline. What’s happening? I’m in Latest Logic Pro X 10.5.0 (hoping it’s not the update issue) Latest version of EZ Bass. But it sucks. I can’t follow the host, so it’s not fluid at all.

If you have the same MIDI in the Song Track of EZbass as on the song track in your DAW, and Follow Host is enabled – EZbass will play MIDI from two places in the same time. This can cause all sorts of problems, such as a chorus-y effect of the sound.
The sign you see tells you that EZbass disabled Follow Host to avoid the above described problem.
So you should decide if you want to play MIDI from your DAW or from EZbass’ song track – but not both!

How do I drag audio from Pro Tools into EZBass?
Reply To: Can't drag audio track from within DAW to EZBass version: 1.0.3
Operating system: macOS Mojave (10.14)
Unfortunately you can’t. It’s because Pro Tools doesn’t allow drag and drop, so there’s nothing we can do about it.
This is why we developed the Audio Sender plugin – which allows you to record the audio from Pro Tools into EZbass, to avoid having to export the audio from Pro Tools, etc.

Thanked by: FrankIn the first image shows the Drums & Keys view before you have dragged/added any keys or drums MIDI.
The second shows the options you get when you have added that MIDI!
I hope it’s clearer now 🙂

Well, some of your attached slides made in EZbass was playing really slow – so it’s natural that each tone sounds distinct (in contrast to a slide that mimics a pitch bend).
If you have a faster speed, the engine will make it sound more fluid (as the attached audio file). You can also decrease the velocity of the second note in the slide (just right of bar 1.2 in the screenshot) to make each tone less prominent.

Thanked by: Basil67I thought you said you were using DI signal? It sounds distorted – and to find transients in a distorted signal is way more difficult than in a clean DI signal. It’s the same for any tracking software…

Having “Auto-Adjust Chord Transitions” enabled means that EZbass will adjust the chord transitions (the MIDI notes just before new chords) to match the chords you are using.
I wish there was a function like “Apply Groove”, so it would transfer Midi information on matching notes (e.g. note start, note end, velocity).
Can you further explain this? Do you want to combine your MIDI with the Toontrack Grooves in some way?

Thanks for the idea, it’s noted. It would certainly be useful! 🙂

Is the workaround you describe achievable in the EZBass interface or do we have to do this in our DAW? Can you advise?
Currently you have to manually move the notes in the Grid Editor (or in the DAW), or change octave for the entire MIDI-/chord-part in EZbass.
We have taken notes of users wanting to exclude the low string from being used, and we’ll look at this and we’ll see what – and if – we can do something about it!
