It’s a software designed to be easy to use, however you can check the manual in Menu/Operation Manual, in the top right corner of EZmix 2.

Are you using the Product Manager? This is the easiest way to install Toontrack products, and usually fixes some problems users can have with the installation part.

Can you run a quick test and set the numbers of CPU to 1? In some cases this has helped, especially when running SD3 in Logic.

Toontrack, can I help you diagnose this issue?

Do you run a Mac or PC?

If PC, are you using ASIO drivers?

Can you run some metering software that shows the activities of the CPU, to see if you have CPU spikes when the audio glitches?

Does it help if you increase the Buffer Size?

is it better with superior drummer 3 for these kind of snare drums

Well, SD3 can produce “better” sounding drums for sure, since you can do more things there! But you should listen to demos of SD3, and for different SDX:s, and watch some Youtube movies where people are using SD3 to see what it looks like, and how it can sound.

    • Have you enabled any e-drums preset in EZdrummer 2? This will alter the MIDI that comes into EZdrummer 2 from the DAW.
    • If not, double check that the MIDI files in the DAW are the exact same as in EZdrummer 2
    • Don’t forget to disable Follow Host in EZdrummer 2 when you play MIDI from your DAW while having MIDI on the song track in EZdrummer 2. Or else, double MIDI notes will be triggered, and it will sound strange.

A Q for Henrik: I bought SD3 a while back, upgrade form SD2, and it came as one big 5 part download bunch. My activation only show it as one item, but the activation above has parts i never saw, like bleeds etc ….. Am i missing parts? J

This is the total bundle that comes with SD3 – the software, and the 5 library parts.

You make valid points, and we are aware of that this can be improved further. Unfortunately, it’s not an easy task for us to just do, and it will take some time, but we will look at this in the future! Thanks for the feedback.

with ez2 i just change the volume (of each parts), the OH! and the reverb or ambiance

You can achieve the same thing in SD3. If you open an EZX and chose only to show the buses in the mixer, these will be the same as the level faders you see in EZdrummer 2 🙂 You can get more advanced if you want to, by showing the individual microphone and output channels, but that’s optional!

An EZX preset will use the same effects in EZdrummer 2 as in Superior Drummer 3, so when you load a preset they will sound the same in both products. The difference is that you can change the mixer in SD3, and add more effects.

The sound will be better when you get SDXs, since they have more samples per articulation, more articulations, and the audio has a higher sample frequency, etc.

Yes, this is a bug that will be fixed in the next update, but we don’t know when we’ll release that (because of about 24 million reasons) 🙂

But until then, in projects where you have the MIDI in your DAW you can create a new empty song track, and select it, in SD3  – so when you open the project the next time, the empty track will play in SD3.

Nice to hear! Faulty drives can be a hassle, since they often make software behave strangely, rather than completely stop working.

I may misunderstand you here (sorry if I do), but I’ll explain how the system works:

The drum sounds are separated from the mixer and effects.

    • For example: if you select a preset that has reverb on the snare – that reverb will still be there when you change the snare to any other snare.

To mix different instrument sounds, from different presets, you can load multiple instances of EZdrummer 2 in your DAW.

If you want to have more control over this (for example, add a custom reverb) , you can select the Original Mix, or any other “dry” mix and route the outputs to a DAW. There you can mix the way you want to.

This is also doable in Superior Drummer 3, where you have full access to the entire mixer chain.
