This feature is there to avoid playing MIDI from multiple sources (both the EZbass song track and Cubase MIDI track) at once.

    • To play the same MIDI from many sources at once can lead to strange audio artifacts, so it’s not something one should do.

Are you sure that there was no MIDI playing from Cubase?

When Follow Host got automatically disabled for you – did EZbass go silent or did it continue to play something?

But I really don’t think Toontrack has said that the Audio Tracker will work with all audio without any kind of editing (if that was the case, we wouldn’t have added any tools for manually editing the tracked results). If you have gotten that impression we’re sorry – that’s not what we want users to think!

The idea is that the automated part of the tracker will take you a part of the way – the rest will have to be edited manually. How far the automated part takes you depends on the audio – cleaner sound and less polyphony will render better results.

Here’s an example of a 190 BPM bass audio that’s being tracked. The tracker can’t find all nuances of the original play (there is no software available anywhere that can do that), but as stated before – it takes you a part of the way (in the video about 90% of the way).

Can you check that you have latest version of EZkeys installed? Easiest done using Product Manager.

If that’s not the case – can you guys please attach the crash log in a post here so we can see what’s causing the crash?

Can you attach the MIDI that you experience as ringing to a post here so we can have a look at it?

Did you drag the EZkeys MIDI to the Drums & Keys tab, or to the song track of EZbass?

Do you encounter any problems while using Audio Sender in Reaper 10? In that case – please describe the issues 🙂

Drums & Keys will convert the drums or piano MIDI into bass MIDI.

You can’t preview drums or piano inside the EZbass plugin – you need to play that in EZdrummer/Superior Drummer, or EZkeys – or similar plugins made for those instruments.

One of few DAWs that support drag and drop is Cakewalk Sonar.

Internally Cubase can drag and drop audio, and they have changed their file format for drag and drop during the years – so it differs between versions. MIDI can be dragged and dropped from Cubase.

The easiest way to discover if a DAW has this ability is to try to drag a MIDI or Audio region directly to the desktop. If you can drop it there as a file, the DAW supports drag and drop.

    Let me explain,

Yes, I want to combine my MIDI with the Toontrack Grooves.

The grooves of the Toontrack Midi library has been played by a real bass player, so the timing and feel is quite natural.

During my work with the Grid Editor, I am using the Snap-to-Grid function that results in 100% perfect note positions.

Furthermore, I am choosing the Note-length function, which also is generating 100% perfect note lengths.

So my own MIDI bass line sounds a little bit too digital and I need to invest a lot of effort for humanization.

Although there are humanization features available like Randomize, Dynamics, etc., I would prefer to transfer the information of a cool Midi groove of the Toontrack library.

Example from my own composition before: “C” at 1.2.0, “D” at 1.3.0 and “E” at 1.4.0.

Example from the Toontrack Midi: “C” at 1.2.01 and “G” at 1.3.04.

    My desired result: “C” at 1.2.01, “D” at 1.3.04 and “E” at 1.4.0.

    As you can see:

    • Differences in pitch should be ignored
    • No notes will be added or deleted
    • Only matching notes will be applied concerning note positions (optionally same to note length and velocity)

Reply To: Feature Request: Apply Groove (beside Auto-Adjust Chord Transitions) version: 1.0.3
    Operating system: Windows 10

    Ah, thanks for the explanation.

This is actually something we have implemented, but currently only when converting MIDI drums to bass MIDI.

In the Drums & Keys tab, you can use the Replace MIDI function, and it can blend the MIDI created in the Drums & Keys tab with the MIDI you have on the Song Track.

I think you asking for a similar solution, but for all grooves – not just in Drums & Keys. I’ll add this as a feature request!

Hm, I think we need you to record arm both Cubase and EZbass while playing something where these issues occur.

This will record the MIDI both into EZbass and Cubase, and then you can post the Cubase MIDI, and the EZbass MIDI here.

We will analyse the two MIDI files and see why they might differ.

Sorry for the inconvenience here, but we need the data to find the issue 🙂

Sorry for all the inconveniences! We will add a fix in 1.0.4 that (hopefully!) will take care of these issues. It will be released ASAP.
