Just to clarify – do you want to cycle through the Drums and Mixer Presets? If that’s the case, do you find the buttons not to do the job as you wish (see attached screenshot)? Would you like to cycle through them using keyboard shortcuts?

Or are you talking about Part Presets – Drum Kits which only changes the drums? These presets are found in the bottom of the Drums and Mixer Presets drop down menu.

Is EZbass looking as it should when you run it as a standalone, but too large when you run it in Studio One?

Can you take a screenshot of what it looks like when in Studio One, and post it here?

Just saw this. How did you alter the speed of the slide?

you just move the start or end note of the slide, so it gets longer 🙂

Another tip regarding your project. Leading up to bar 19 you have a slide that only goes up 2 notes, and it’s not that fast. This makes it play three distinctive notes, rather than a smooth slide.

In those situations, I personally rather use the Short Slide Up (Grace Note), found in the Slide menu (right next to the slide button).

If you want to try it:

    • remove the slide
    • select the first note on bar 19
      • make it a Short Slide Up (Grace Note).

This is what it looks like with a Grace Note

You might just like that 🙂

Yes, the vertical grid lines that show bars, beats and divisions.  And why, pray tell, I said “darker,” I don’t know!  I guess I was thinking more contrast to see the lines better.  So you are correct: I meant making them a bit brighter to make them more visible.

Maybe just a couple pixels wider would do the trick.  At any rate, a little knob somewhere to increase or decrease the visibility of the lines would be nice.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

(Note to self: research difference between “dark” and “bright.”)

Thanks for the clarification 🙂 I’ll take a note of your request!

Just to be sure – are we talking about the vertical grid lines that shows bars, beats, and divisions?

And in that case – do you mean that you want them brighter, to make them more visible?

Are you using plugins that causes a lot of latency in the project (like mastering plugins that adds around 50 ms or similar)?

Is it the same if you start a fresh project in Cubase, add EZbass, and try it there?

Is it any difference if you lower your Buffer Size for the audio drivers in Cubase settings?

I tried your project, selected the chord between bar 60 and 61, and added a Short 2 transition which worked.

    • I drew two pink lines to show where the notes were added

    • Are you using EZbass 1.0.5 (the latest version)?
    • Did you add the transition by first selecting the A chord on bar 60, or did you select something else (like the entire MIDI block below the chords)?

Can you save the EZbass Project where the Short 2 doesn’t work, and post it here so we can have a look at it?

3rds and 5ths requires notes to be present to be activated. E.g. if you have silence in the end of a chord, adding a 3rd or 5th transition won’t do anything. I know this can be confusing, so we will have a look at the design for those.

The tracker is meant to let you track the audio, so regular editing of notes (like copy, paste, etc) has to be done in the Grid Editor. When you are done tracking – export the MIDI down to the Song Track and do the editing in the Grid Editor tab.

Are you referring to 1.0.4? I’m on it and still getting the same issue. This is with no MIDI in the Ableton clip playing at all.

Turns out restarting Ableton fixed it — so I’m guessing it’s some caching issue perhaps?

It will be fixed in 1.0.5, which is currently being worked on and hopefully released soon!

There are options for keeping the chords, and for replacing them – so the user can decided what to do 🙂

    • Drag the MIDI-block (that’s next to the Export to Current Song Track button) and release it below your chords on the song track – to keep the chords.
    • or Drag the MIDI-block on or above the chords (or click the button) to – replace chords and MIDI.

There is also the also the alternative to use the Replace MIDI function.

    • Select the blocks on the Song Track that you want to replace the MIDI on
    • On the selected card in Drums & Keys tab, click the menu buttons (top arrow in Screenshot)
    • Select Replace MIDI in Selection on Song Track (bottom arrow in Screenshot)
      • This will, like the menu entry says, replace the MID on the selection(s) on the song track

    • You can try to disable Follow Host in EZbass, check that the tempo is correct, and export. Does that work?
    • You can also save an EZbass project, and open it in Standalone – and then export it. Does that work?
