Having SD3 library and the “Default” Drums and Mixer preset loaded, if you directly in the articulations drop down menu press Crash a couple of times, then press Mute Hit (with both of them enabled) – does that stop the ringing from the Crash articulation?

I understand that the current implementation makes it tricky to easily find the correct groove quickly in some cases. We’ll take a look at this!

Have you enabled (turned on) the Mute Hit articulation, in the Articulations menu in the top right corner of the drums tab? If I enable that and the Crash articulation, play lots of Crash, then one Mute Hit – the Mute Hit silences all the playing Crash articulations…

Can you specify what library, cymbal, and articulations you are using so I can try the scenario you describe?

The ARA system is a good idea, the problem with it that it’s no standard amongst DAW:s. If we would chose to support it, it would take a considerable amount of time from our developing team, which could be used to do other stuff – improve other areas of SD3 for example. Unfortunately, one of the DAWs that support ARA – Sonar – has declared that their DAW may be stopped from further development.

However – I really like that DAWs improves their support for plugins, and I have noted this as a feature request ๐Ÿ™‚

Wouldn’t it be possible to automatically keep it in sync with Cubase?

No, SD3 can’t get Cubase’s tempo map automatically – you’ll need to import it into Superior Drummer 3 when you make changes to it.
In the Track menu, select “Import Tempo from MIDI file…” and select the MIDI file that you have exported from Cubase, containing the tempo map.

You can’t send the chords themselves to Cubase. Cubase (and other DAWs) can only receive MIDI, and you can enable MIDI out, which sends the MIDI data to Cubase. That MID can be used to control other plugins. So you can, for example, have the MIDI in EZkeys and let that MIDI control a Cubase piano plugin…

Currently you have to right click the groove and “copy”, then paste the parts you want to the track. We have gotten requests to add the option to preview the separate instruments in the MIDI grooves, and we are working on it ๐Ÿ™‚
