You need to make sure the EZ Keys dll file is being scanned by Cubase. Find the folder the file is in and make sure it is one of the paths in Cubase plugin information. Not sure what OS you are using. The dll file may be in program files vst plugins, program files steinberg vst plugins. Hope this helps!

Scott, Cubase 5 is 64 bit. He is running an older version . The latest update is 5.5.3. However, it appears that EZ Drummer is being loaded in Cubase but is not finding the sound files. Now the problem may be that he is running a 64 bit host and loading from a 32 bit (X86) folder. I would suggest uninstalling EZ Drummer and when the prompt ask for were to install the 64 bit dll to set the path: Program files/Steinberg/Cubase 5/vst plugins. Cubase by default (provided he puts that path back in) will load any plugins in that folder. I still think the problem lies in the sound files not being in the location EZ Drummer is looking to load them. Also from the looks of the plugin page above he is loading 32 bit plugins in Cubase. Not sure if he is running 32 bit host or 64 bit. If it is in fact 64 bit the path set is not correct. Again it should be program files/steinberg/vst plugins. The information being provided is very confusing.

Fun song! Some suggestions on the mix:

    1. The bass guitar needs dialed in. Can not here much bass in the song.

    2. The piano sounds very compressed…. Are you using compression on it?

    3. The vocals sound good in the mix. I think if you correct the bass and piano the vocals level will fit right in…..

Nice Song….. A few suggestions on the mix:

    1. The vocal is sometimes buried by the piano. Try to bring the vocal more out in front.

    2. The background vocals would sound better if they were panned a little left/right of the main vocal.

    Other than that great song!

Thanks for your comments Andy….Your song does sound close in spots, mainly at the end….Like the song…Here are a few thoughts on the mix…..
    1. Try to put your bass in the center and cut off at 70Hz
    2. On the keys cutoff 100 Hz and lower
Also at the end there is a clicking sound everytime you hit the piano keys (I listened to the MP3 not Sound Cloud….)
I use EZ Keys to put the song together but, I use Steingerb’s Grand Piano instead of the one EZ Keys supplies. I feel Steinbergs is a much better sounding piano…Plus there are several Grands to choose from….

Nice song Paul. I hear some strings in the song. I think they need to be up a little louder Great song though……

Just a thought but I think the velocity adjustment is for just the piano and does not effect the velocities in the midi library. You probably need to make those changes once you have it imported on a midi track.

Thanks, I updated the song a little. Did some drum changes and added an acoustic guitar (Mussic Labs Real Guitar). The cool thing is I took the midi track from the piano and inserted it on the guitar track, then tweaked the notes and poof a guitar track….. Here is the updated song link

Looks like I will have to send Steinberg a note about this. Would be nice to be able to do this !
