Did a quick search on (“Pro Tools” “11 characters”) and it looks like it’s just talking about the names of the disk drives themselves.

Thankfully, those (normally) shouldn’t figure into the path for 99% of things on Windows — just the actual drive letters (C:, D:, E:, etc.).

Tested renaming my samples disk name here (Windows XP, unfortunately for your comparison) and didn’t have any trouble loading up the Toontrack plugins and associated sample libraries after the change.

Also unfortunately for your comparison though, I’m not on Pro Tools.

    ORIGINAL: Cytem

[…] What would Toontrack have to lose by adding the ability to edit/map out grooves? […]

Just to drop a practical answer to that question: time.  Think of all the other not-so-redundant things that might be done with the dev and support time it would take to create and maintain a full-featured MIDI editor within the plug-in.

My best guess at the moment is you’re trying to install from a zip file without extracting the contents of the zip file.
Extract first, then go into the extracted folder and run the installer from there, not from within the zip program.

(That’s assuming the “the second it starts” is talking about the installation and not EZD itself.)

fwiw, I checked it out in Superior here and the Funkmasters E-Drum mapping (at least as much as seemed pertinent) seems to correspond 1-to-1 with the default Superior mapping (and so, 1-to-1 with the spreadsheet).

what’s uniquely interesting about the Funkmasters kits is that the crash cymbal *does* have a “ride” articulation, and vice versa.  I’m wondering if that’s where you *might* be getting the impression of a mixup, but I don’t know what notes you have your TD-9 set up to send.

    I wouldn’t worry about it.

Actually, just bought the Metalheads EZX from them yesterday.
Opted for a boxed version, and have a tracking number already.
Communication has been good and I have no reason to not trust them thus far.  Check all of their recent feedback (I did) — it’s pretty darn positive.
The current low prices in general seem to be a promotion going on for all of the EZXes among other things at multiple vendors.  Take advantage of it!

And while I’m at it… also had a good eBay purchase from Ear2Track (nearly instant serial delivery there!).
