I’ll see if I can see any other differences and get back with the VST version. It probably is the latest, Play 5.0.4.

About detachable tabs, I know that one does not prevent the other and it’s a very nice feature to have. I was simply saying that personally and this only my personal preference but after 2 weeks or so, I rarely detach them as keeping track of all my plugin windows is already hard. Have them full screen and able to snap half screen and corners with windows shortcuts is a more appealing feature. I know that it’s not common for plugin windows and it would be an innovative and daring feature that must have it’s set of challenges. I work full time as a video games music composer and sometimes films. As we all know, projects are often gigantic, my workflow is getting more and more precise and any feature that can simplify my workflow is always welcome.

Thanks you so much for investigating, Like I said in an earlier post, I’ve never seen this kind of involvement from the company team in forums. Other software companies should do the same.

Yes and like I said, I appreciate the quickness or the responses. I’ve never seen such involvement and support from actual employees in the forums. It is most welcome. That said, simply pointing out the corner without further explanation to mentioning it was a workaround to a potential workflow improvement felt like I was making a pointless request to begin with.

Click and drag the corner to resize. See pic with yellow circle.

I know that… Didn’t you read my thread? Working with it every day for 2 weeks and reading the manual a few time would make me a total idiot if I didn’t know that by now. Using the corner arrow is a half done idea and a temporary solution and not what I was looking for. I would like the full screen to work like it does in standalone. Re-sizing it with the corner arrow is not as practical. It never fits quite perfectly and always needs to be resized whenever I open a new instance. Part of your advertising campaign is based on window layout, showing the plugin in full screen on multiple monitors omitting the fact that what you are showing us is in standalone mode but in real work scenarios, most of us use it as a plugin in a DAW.

I love the fact that you seem to listen to users in forums and have a team of reps giving us quick responses but I could have waited a few days for a more complete answer to my request.

We have fixed the issue where the play head didn’t follow the hosts when you just moved it (without playing). It will be released in a coming update.

Will the loop points also reflect the DAW’s and vice versa? (also a ReWire thing)

It is visually. Sorry if my sentence was misleading. It plays in sync in deed. What i don’t like is that when I move one cursor, the other should follow. The should be moving together in total sync. They do so on playback but not when moving around and editing the fact that one can be on bar 3 and the other on bar 82 feels a bit distracting and clumsy. That’s why I mentioned ReWire. When Using ReWire with Cubase and Ableton Live or Cubase and Sibelius, I get total synchronicity with the cursors. I’m just used to that and would like SD3 to behave like that as well. Hopefully it will in an up cumming update.

Yes that is all good but I’m talking about the “learn” button. It was right there and big in Superior Drummer 2 and now it’s super tiny under a sub-menu next to the “center” hit in your screen shot. It takes at least one more click to activate it and it’s too small. Like I said, the learn fonction is used when we’re sitting at the drums, often not in a confortable position to do precise mouse work while holding sticks. Not to say that as of now, it’s not even working. I could make a video but right now when I hit learn and hit my pads, it receives the wrong midi signals. When I look at the much appreciated midi monitor that the plugin includes, the signal sent is fine and accurate but the learn function distorts it somehow. Ends up I have to put it in manually but even then, the bug that I can’t save it as a user map preset makes all this very frustrating and useless. I just abandoned the idea until you guys fix this.

My other comment was that when in the advanced midi mapping tab, the tab is hiding the drums and cannot be moved.

I just noticed that the EWQL Play 5 engine can go full screen by double clicking depending of “Always on top” setting. It’s kind of funny because Play 5 is not even re-sizable. It can none the less be set to full screen leaving a black area around the plugin (see attachment).

Wouldn’t this mean that it’s up to the plugin’s architecture and that Cubase already is supporting this?

    Hi,
the reason is because those extra windows are handled/managed by us from within Superior, whereas the main window is handled by Cubase…

    /Patrik

Thank you for the quick response. Couldn’t you just have created a detachable drums tab as an extra window and it would solve the issue no? In a future 3.1 update maybe? Sorry to already be requesting features on day 3. I think you guys definitely are setting a new cool feature with those detachable windows. Hopefully more companies will do so as well.
