In addition, the grid editor auditioning articulations for all the hats in the Metall Pack plays Open 3 at a very low level on the audition rows on the left part of the grid. but hitting it on the grid hits it at a normal level.
Oh yes sorry about that.
Ya its the one thing i never got to well even when i was on 2 but audio worked, sounds hit so i guess that was all i really needed to get work done but I would not mind understanding how the mic signal flow and assignments work in either to be honest. The one area that always got to me.
Can somebody please do a video tutorial for this microphone assigning and dragging? Nothing is intuitive and the manual is useless ti me as are most manuals. its just the way they are written that they assume you think the same way the person writing the manual is thinking. Thats why most instruction manuals form most companies are for the trash bin. I am really hoping somebody can do a video about what you guys all mean about all these microphone assignments and assinging. Brcause as with Superior 2, i never understood these and how to properly incorporate microphone routing for ride cymbals. i always have to use rides from other kits because its very hard to find usable ride cymbals. But we need a way to keep this routing for the new ride replacements very simple. this is too complicated with the mic assignments page on how x-drums tie in unless somebody can show us a video because the manual is basically useless to me for the most part.
speaking of learn i cannot understand why the midi learn function does not have a shortcut and its hidden in a very hard spot to get used to. Can somebody make a big button for this or at least under the articulation menu? but a button is more crucial to have. wasn’t this in superior 2? i rememebrr an easy big learn function in S2.
the grid editor is not even usable at all in any advantageous way whatsoever over the grid in a Daw, is visually not clear, logical nor meant for any rapid intuitive drum midi creation, and i dont know what the point of the tracker is over using midi in pro tools to trigger the new hits.
I do not know what happened to this company, what they are doing or who is running things. but the upgrade from S2 to S3 was a very big waste of money to me and probably the pointless upgrade i have ever made in my life. And as i can see, there are many unhappy campers. The company is clearly experiencing issues of some sort.
Still not following. So i made a long and drawn out midi mappling process that works for my daw. Dows anyone know how I can pull up the midi maps when i switch libraries?? I made a midi map in a Death library kit and when i pull up my mapping i tried to save it doesnt hit the right drums in Metal Foundry
For sure.
3 installs concurrent use is what i believe is a fair number and is about the average across the board in the industry. And it is so for good reasons… and one reason is probably because that is what analytics show is most efficient for revenue returns for these companies.
Could you please put in a request for them t stretch this to 3? This is not an unreasonable request.
Actually I don’t understand the 2 active vs 4 total authorizations of any of this. I need exactly three installs going on and it is unknown if and when I am authorizing people who work for me to use it on the station at my one location at home and if and when how many active users are using in my other studio I am setting up. Can I please get a third active install? I need the third badly. Please be reasonable. Especially when we are actually buying your software whereas others are using illegitimate copies. I have seen it often.
Can this company be a bit more reasonable about active concurrent installs? 2 is not reasonably enough. 3 would be fair. And 4 would be ideal. Perhaps if there is at least three I may even ‘inform’ where I have seen illegitimate ones around aside from the main ones people know about.
Even iK multimedia allows up to 10 installs. That’s so good, people just mostly buy theirs as the prices are worth just owning it.
An example of a company that nobody buys software from anymore is waves. That’s because they only allow one install and not to mention the waveshell garbage they install to clog up your machine. What a nonsense company that is. I have to put that waveshell nonsense on my computer just to use one damn waverider plugin that works ok.
So in addition to please stretching this to a third install, can TT just make your own vocal rider plugin so I don’t have to use the waves one? I absolutely can’t stand that company not to mention the crusty sound on analog modeled plugins, and the cheap pumping nonsense on some of their in-house made compressors plug-ins. It’s no wonder basically most people are using whatever the hell copies they find of that. Especially because of that waveshell junk.
Its all about what a company puts out which determines the energy they get back from the community. And the waves revenues certainly show it with their losses.
3 installs are not unreasonable and allow for two locations plus a backup machine as the ones concurrently active is key. More than reasonable and a no-brainer.
This upgrade has not been a good experience. I have no use for superior 3. I’m literally installing superior 2 on the new rig. It’s much much better in many ways aside from the improved plugins.
There has not been any heart and soul put into this grid editor at all and for me is not usable. It’s not even close.
Another suggestion for improvement aside from a color coded lines wit strikes as the color per line, as well as a better shaded and multi level contrast outline grid for the beats, and putting in two or three permanent rows for the hi-hat so at least one row of closed with drop down, one row of medium and/or open is always present as well. But this editor needs whey better integration with the midi tracks and clips of the host.
But aside from that, removing those x-drum is a major letdown. Especially when a person wants an intelligently layed out pads for the electronic drums in the correct physical locations which serve as a reminder for the keyboard in a natural way.
In addition, why is the midi learn function so obscure hidden in a tiny menu and drop down.
Buddy, this is not a good situation! Lol
I didn’t mean it in a sexist way, I meant it in a way where it seems like people who don’t enjoy what they are doing in the career role have contributed to certain crucial ‘department’s of this release which is to me in its entirety is not as useful to me as is superior 2.
And you didnt read what i wrote. There is no X-drums. It got changed to Add instrument and there is just a box at the left with the drum. it doesnt allow you to drag the pad like it was a proper X-Drum hex pad before to make it Intelligibly Layed out.
The midi layout of the keyboard is now vertical not horizontal. Why change it? why not just add the option to make it vertical as opposed to altering it completely.
But the biggest mistake here is the X-drum layout being gone.
Im now having the issue but i think in reverse. Sometimes in packs that have a double bass drum, i want to be able to only have the kit hit one of the kicks and not alternate on the same note and i cant find any alternate hits toggle in this S3 so that the C1 note only hits one of the bass kick drums.
[Nevermind, found it].
looks like it finally has worked now. had to move everything to the original root it tried to point it all to then opened the software so it connected it all. then closed the software. then moved all of it back to where i need it… then opened the software again then got that pop up but in settings i saw some other yellow sign or text accompanying in the libraties place of settings then locate folder became lit up bright again.
I would suggest this thing be modified so that install paths can be selected on install as opposed to where the folder was downloaded as a default.
what i believe has fixed this was when i uninstalled, i then reinstalled by clicking on the actual installer file as opposed to doing it from tTT manager. but not only that, i moved that downloaded folder (the EZ3 installer downloaded off TT manager) into the place i wanted it (i think). this must be using the registry to point to old former spots.
on top of this now the TT manager says the download folder doesnt exist.. Now im definetly lost. But anyways i think i just changed this to the right place now.
But the fact that the ability to locate or not depends on the location of the downloads folder set from TT manager is a major issue with the directory of how this works.
yes it does and then when clicking on open settings the Locate Folder option is greyed out under sound and midi libraries. click on the three lines and it says to change the path, move the folder in explorer then click locate. i do that in explorer, move it. go back to the three line drop down and locate folder is greyed out.
in addition, when i uninstall ezd3, and reinstall, when i install it says Ez3 core library is not installed yet. Not true at all. it is installed, i installed it first. why is this software intall not showing upon install where we will store libraries? This would prevent all these issues.
